Scripture about the hen gathering her chicks
Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Luke 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

RE: Tommie
Hi Dee, nice to hear from you. We had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to the New Year. Hope you're feeling better. Seems like the whole country is sick, we have managed to stay out of the fire so to speak.

Fyi, my email is
I don't check this site very often.

Also, if you are on Facebook, Laura Weatherford another "cousin" on the Ingles side has started a FB page and she can invite you to join it, but you need to be on FB. Let me know.

Have you been doing much genealogy lately? I have had it on hold for a while, although I am anxious to get back at it. I am asking all family to write some info - a short life story of themselves and of their immediate family no longer around, my goal is to put a book together for us and the future generations. So be thinking about that and make some notes as you recall the stories. also please look for old pictures of the family, it would be nice to have them all cataloged.

Thanks for staying in touch. Tommie

Thanks So Very Much Dee

Hi from Ohio!
Dear Dee, You are so sweet and such a good friend. Yes, your friend needs you most right now. God will bless you for this in the future. He sees all things and at the time of great reckoning everything will be revealed about everyone. That thing her family has done her seems to be an epidemic these days, which I don't understand. I don't get people who only think about themselves first and last. A man once lived next door and I found out he was going hungry. He had money but was so old he couldn't take care of himself. We stepped in and helped him as much as we could. His nephew had power of attorney over him and this guy has a high position around town, so when he found out we were helping his uncle he stepped in and round about told us to stop helping his uncle. I didn't back down. I kept helping as much as possible. His health was no good by then and he soon died. So sad. His relatives came out of the woodwork to strip his place and kept putting on a big show of grief. All the neighbors were upset over it. I finally told them off and told them they should have shone him their love when he was alive instead of after he passed. I know we're not perfect but they had abandoned that man when he was alive. Some people I will never understand. As one good lady said in her bio that family and friends are the essence of life. You are a true and good friend.
I added a bit of info on my bio page today you may find interesting. It is good people like you who will keep the memory of these good and brave sailors alive into the next generation. Take a peek when you can, sweety.
Just be sure to take care of yourself and do something to relax. Thank you for all you do in every facet of your life!
God bless! Your Friend, Marylee

Dear Dee, Thank you for all the tokens. You are a treasure! I love what you say in your bio on how love can't be bought or sold. That is so true. It is a gift. When there is love we can face all things. God's love is all around us. God bless!
Your friend, Marylee

Dee: I routinely add the "Forget-Me-Not" flowers or a teddy bear if it's a child when I add a tombstone pic to a memorial . . . it's just my thing.

Thank you for your response. Alice Thomas Ingles is the half-sister to William Claude King. In the wonderful picture you have of him and his family, I assume that the older woman is his mother; Francis R Pearl/Thomas/King/Fatheree (1856-1930). Alice is the mother of Thomas P Ingles, my father. Do you have any further info on Francis' background?

I look forward to discussing this family branch!!

All the best. Tommie

Hi Dee,

My name is Tommie Ingles Shepherd, I am the Grand-daughter of Alice Thomas Ingles the half-sister to William Claude King. You have a picture of him and his family. Can you identify the others in the picture? Is the older lady, his mother; Francis R Pearl (1856-1930)? She would be my Great Grandmother.

Are you related to WC King?

my email address is:

Look forward to discussing. Tommie
