Terry, on their page there is a link to "History" and Marshall Echols is there. I would share on facebook but wasn't sure how your account is listed.

Terry, this might be worth your time looking into. They have interesting historical articles and especially the Marshall.

|Pete Mohney||Echols at Elmwood|
I just happened upon some Echols this weekend, took some photos, which allowed me to make some edits and add a new person, Eric L. Echols. I added a photo to
so you can see her birth and death dates, and i added a photo to her husband
that shows how the marker has become overgrown by some sort of shrub.

|Pete Mohney||Alexander Vaughn|
I took a good high res photo and uploaded it, along with one that shows his stone and his wife's right next to each other. There are no other Vaughns in the immediate area. I also uploaded a better picture of his wife's stone to her memorial.

You have a photo request for this person, but it appears that he's not actually buried there.
Jefferson Memorial Gardens East memorial
Note that the memorial above has a photo.
I'm going to email the creator of the one in Elmwood and suggest he delete his memorial. Thought you might want to know where the actual burial is.

|Pete Mohney||James Echols, Elmwood cemetery|
I photographed his grave marker and uploaded it, and the bench with the family name on it also.
In the next plot was a stone for Elizabeth and Melville Echols; I created memorials for them and uploaded a photo of their stone.
I found some other family members near James, and uploaded a photo:
Nell Taylor Echols
Annalu Echols Brown
Carl C. Brown, Sr.
I hope this helps.

Sometime ago you were wanting a photo of his grave. I now have one, although it is not the best quality. My cousin had one he took in the 90's. Elias is at the Sailers cemetery next to daughter Elizabeth according to my cousin. My cousin as a child helped his parents care for this cemetery. He is definitely NOT at Dunson. So will you request a photo for 118334429 and I will scan it and post.

|Sandra Gill Worthan||George Walter Echols Memorial|
Terry: I'm looking through old emails and saw the suggestion you asked that I change George Walter Echols to son of John Stokely Echols & Jennie Ann Boyd. I hope I answered you on this,he was George Washington Echols & Jennie Ann Boyd's son. He said that he was George's son and called John Uncle Stoke. Think John Stokely raised all the children but not sure.

You posted a photo of his marker in 2014; a request has been put in to get a larger, higher resolution photo, and to check around his plot for family members. For some reason the cemetery staff cannot find his record. Do you have any idea what block, etc. you took his photo in?

Please remove your note as well regarding the name and death information. Additionally his Mother's surname is misspelled on the Death Certificate. Death Certificates are notoriously incorrect and I do not allow them on my memorials. Also, your can put notations on the memorials YOU manage, but NOT the ones I manage. Thank you. Nancy (Direct Descendant of William Whitfield I)

I realize that P is for Powell, but it is on her stone. If I leave it off, then in all probability someone will create another memorial by mistake. I really don't know what else to do.

I left the P on as part of middle name since it is on stone. Also sent an edit to add Alice as spouse. Had to delete Barbara and add her in same edit to get system to accept for some reason. Otherwise, it was trying to delete her.

She is buried in Sailers Cemetery, which is on B. Wilson Road near where Gary Black lives. She is definitely NOT in Dunson, because I have been there. There is only enough room for graves that are posted within fenced area. I have NOT been to this Sailers Cemetery because it is heavily overgrown and very snaky this time of year. Do not think about in cold weather or would have gone. Remind me hen winter gets here and I will get pics for you.

|Wayne Smith||Julia Echols Gideon, Leagueville|
Her place of burial has been a mystery; John Gideon's son, Clint, married my sister so I felt personally involved for Clint's son, my nephew. In looking through the old newspaper files at the Henderson County Historical Commission I found a brief reference to Julia and was able to create a memorial for her with other info from Lavonne Chase. So Julia, like others in Leagueville cemetery lies in an unmarked grave. Felt you might be interested.

|Lewie Dunn||Location of John Echols Grave?|
Do you have any idea of where John Echols c1736-c1826 Madison Co, AL is buried?
I have pieced together and located the cemetery where Lucy Annah Echols Williams is buried in Jasper Co, GA. The church minutes give Jan-Sept 1821 as her death. I strongly believe that she is buried in the Churchyard as the custom of the area at that time had already developed to bury folks in churchyards as opposed to family grave yards. Owning to the fact that the Creek Indians were just across the river and respected church cemeteries but not family ones.
As for Lucy Annah Moore Echols the church was founded in 1809 so she could very well be there too.
Thanks for your help. I am from Nathan & Lucy Williams son William Williams.
