Guillemins in Grand Meadow
I just wanted to let you know that the tombstone picture you added for Adolph Guillemin/11683529 (1864-1939) in the Grand Meadow Cemetery should actually be added to Adolph Guillemin/165548142-1835-1912 and his wife, Dorothea Guillemin/165548063 (1839-1929) instead. Thank you!

Transfer complete. Your email address is not on the transfer request as you do not show it on your profile. My email is Send and email to me and I'd really like to trade letters and info. I found a bunch more letters that mention John and some mention Emma's illness and death.

RE: John Rosser
Catherine Sprecher would have been the aunt of the Sprecher that served in the 110th. His dad George and his uncle Phil and brother John served in the 34th. Henry served in the 110th, and Frank served in the 152nd with my 2nd great grandfather Ephraim Carter.

Frank's daughter married Ephraim's son George in 1900 in Garden Grove, MO. Frank and Ephraim had probably not seen each other since 1865 when Ephraim moved to Madison County, IA, so it was just a big coincidence that they both showed up in MO at the same time.

I'm not related to the Sprecher's except through the marriage but my second cousin Larry Carter is and that's who sent me the letters.

I hadn't put together the fact that Even was John's half brother because he seems to have spelled his name with only one "s". I suppose that's why George would entrust John to help his wife with his business affairs while he was away at war.

I'd be happy to send you the letters in which John is mentioned if you are interested. I have found two, from early in the war before John joined up, but there are probably more if I look. I know that the two units were together at one point and

Also if you would like to have management of John's memorial, I'll happily transfer it to you.
Use the edit tab and send a request for transfer using the "other suggestion" option (makes it a whole lot easier).

John Rosser
Hi, Thanks for posting the picture of John Rosser on his memorial. I take it that you must be a descendant of his. I came to know about him through civil war letters written by George Sprecher of Company K of the 34th OVI. George was postmaster in Arcanum before the war, and even though he was too old to enlist, he lied about his age and did so anyway. In the 300+ letters he wrote to his wife during the war he mentioned John Rosser several times. One George's son also served in the 110th with John. He was shot across the back in but survived the war.

I'm not related to the Barnard family. This is a relation for one of my clients. It helps others when I link the findagrave entries for those I am working on. I have more information on Dency's family and would be happy to share if you are interested. Please email me directly.

I did it Cleome...sorry about that as they were just like yours...I believe I meant to add a closeup and for some reason I didn't put the right ones on there! If I can find the close up of the names do you want them or no?

Deyo Family Association (DFA)

Regarding John J Deyo Find A Grave 19433429

I have a theory.

I do not know if Fred was married and that John J Deyo is his 11 month old son.
With Abel there is a JJD 95382959.
This may be the same person.
If someone has a way to visit the cemetery and check the locations of the stones, perhaps
We may be able (or Abel) to determine if maybe… JJD buried was buried with Abel but Fred wanted more than JJD and
Had John J Deyo added to his stone..
Or something like that.

Welcoming your comments and ideas.
