I was leafing through the newspaper and found this. Also If you would like the piece I found on him I would be glad to send it to you. There is a Photo of him there but I am not to great at this.
I found your site by googling the disaster to read more about it. At the time of this his mother was there visiting and she told the story of what she seen. Very devastating to read. She was almost a victim herself with his wife and daughter.

I noticed your comment to Danny regarding the memorial and your wish to know more about him.
There is information available in the documents available at Ancestry.com and many other genealogy sites. I spend a lot of my time on Ancestry researching my ancestors and relatives.
You just have to learn where to dig in the obscure files and documents.

If you change your burial location to the Dewitt Cemetery, I will delete my entry. I will add the picture of the headstone to your entry.

Thanks for your message about Mr. Kress. I came to know him when I was working at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco in 1994 and we had the Samuel H. Kress Collection on exhibit there. When I saw there was no biography for him on findagrave, I added it. He is a man that should not be forgotten. He gave so much to so many small towns (and big cities) across the country.

|Roger Leach||THANK YOU|
Thank you so much for your recent email. And thank you very much for the information and the offer of help and support with which you provided me. Being new to all of this, I'm sure I'm going to need it.
Imagene Harrington is my first cousin. I grew up with her in Hughes County, Oklahoma. Her father (Jesse Leach) and my father (Bill Leach) were bothers and were sons of Nancy Anna Leach.
Again, thank you for the help and I look forward to corresponding with you in the future.

Hello Mrs. Grimes,
My name is Roger Leach and I am the grandson of Nancy Anna Leach. I am new to ancestry.com and was wondering if you might be able to help me with some information concerning my grandmother's family.
Any help you might be able to provide me would be sincerely appreciated.

|R Lerch||RE: Eastland Disaster|
Thank you for your note. There has been a good bit of news in Chicago lately about the Eastland due to some newsreel footage that has been found. One of the contributors in my List of Friends, Jessica Goforth (#46514540) has compiled a significant Virtual Cemetery for victims of the Eastland and also the Iroquois Theater fire. Chicago has had its share of disasters taking young lives. I see you also have been remembering the Lady of Angels school fire, so sad.
Graceland has some others involved in disasters.
Ryerson, Arthur 87412141 died on the Titanic, and Herbert Stone on the Lusitania. Thnnk you for remembering and sharing. Bob

Originally when I created this memorial I did submit it for "famous" status and Find a Grave denied the submission for some unknown reason. I'm not really sure how to subsequently resubmit something without creating it all over again but I'd be happy to do so ...
