Hi Julie,

I am trying to find someone in the area whom can do some lookups for me, all my O'Donnell, Sharp and Hayes family are buried here.

Possible name correction
Thank you for listing my aunt's grave, #113147543. It's the only photo and cemetery knowledge that I have, so I'm very thankful. I am her namesake, and my given name is Betty. My parents always told me her given name was Betty, not Elizabeth, but I have not seen her birth certificate. If you have seen the certificate, could you clear my confusion?
Thank you.

Abel Claypool
Hi Julie;
I wanted to ask you to make a correction--the wife of Abel Claypool was Ella Pitzer not Hume.
Abel's mother was Elizabeth Hume.

Thank you,
Pam Castro

RE: Kolenc
Dear Julie,
So sorry for your loss. No matter what, our moms knew us first and they knew us best. While I know you find comfort as to where she is, I'll still send you some prayers.
Regarding Mrs. Kolenc, I did not mean you should go take a photo, the one on her husband's memorial is fine but I didn't want to copy it since you took it - that's all I was asking you to do - just copy that to her memorial. No, it is not yet engraved and I'm not sure when that will occur.
Do take care and be kind to yourself.

RE: Theresia Kraker
Theresa M Krakar who died in March 1966 is the child of Joseph and Elizabeth Kraker.

Theresia has to be the child of Marcus. She fits. She is on the 1870 and 1880 census and then she is gone. The cemetery probably lost the records. I have death certificates and obituaries for my son's great-grandfather and grandmother who are buried at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles. They have NO records for them - either of them. They died before 1900. The cemetery records are hit and miss before 1905 when our state clamped down and made them record everything perfectly. It's frustrating.

Thank you for all your help. I am going to link Theresia to Marcus and Jacobina.

Theresia Kraker
I unlinked her from Marcus and Jacobina. I did put in Marcus and Jacobina's bio section that they had a unnamed daughter in 1870 and Tracy in 1880 and that I couldn't find any trace of her after that. Can't remember the exact words I used now but I'd rather have good info up there than bad. I'm not sure that that Theresia does belong to Marcus and Jacobina. Appreciate any help you can find out from cemetery.

RE: Sofia Krakar Komp
Thank you. Calvery Cemetery in Los Angeles use to give us information for free but since genealogy has become popular, they now charge $25 to get information which I think is criminal. It is cheaper for me to send for death certificates and I get get obituaries for free cuz I belong to so many genealogy websites and newspaper sites. I teach genealogy classes (free). Been doing this for over 8 years. I know Marcus and Jacobina had Theresia in 1870 and 1880. I can find NO trace of her after that. I can account for Joseph and Elizabeth's children. But I know there are other Krakar's in that cemetery, children of the children of Joseph and Marcus. But the headstone looks old. I'm surprised there are no dates on it. Anyway, whatever you can find out I would deeply appreciate. If I have it wrong, and I may, I will make a note in the bio sections of Marcus and Jacobine that they had a daughter, Theresia born in 1869 and is alive on the 1870 and 1880 census. On the 1870 census she has no name - just Krakar. On the 1880 census she is Tracy - very common for Theresa, Theresia, Teresa, etc.

I really appreciate your help. I don't have access yet to Joliet obituaries through paid newspaper sites. I am hoping that one day, one of the 4 that I subscribe to will be able to digitize those newspapers.

RE: Sofia Krakar Komp
No, I can not find a death record for her. I'm wondering if she got remarried? Have not found a marriage record for her yet. Have been up all night and my eyes are crossed. Going to have to quit for now and get some sleep. Joseph Kraker/Karkar is Marcus Joseph Krakar's brother. Joseph Kraker's son's all use the name Krakar on the WWI and WWII draft registration cards but then they switch their names to Kraker. Marcus Krakar's family retains Krakar.

Also, the first three children of Marcus and Jacobine were not born in Joliet. They were born in Sheridan Township, Logan, Illinois - John A. Krakar b. 1863; Sophia A. Krakar b. Feb 1866 (1900 census) - no death record for her, and Theresia born 1869. On the 1870 census that is where they were living. On the 1880 census until their deaths, they lived in Joliet. Theresia is alive on the 1880 census (she is 11) and then she is gone. You had a Theresia in St. John's with NO dates of any kind but I believe that is Marcus and Jacobine's daughter. I don't know why there are no dates. I may be wrong. She may not belong to them. If I found I made a mistake as I do further research, I will remove her parents from the link and remove the info I posted in her bio section.

RE: Marcus Krakar
Thanks Julie,

If someone closer wants them, I'll be more than happy to transfer them over. I'll be doing more research on this family for my cousin. She is delighted to have access to this on Find A Grave. She never uses Ancestry or any other genealogy sites. It's not her thing. But Find A Grave she can navigate easily.

RE: Marcus Krakar
Julie, You are an angel. I would love the Krakar's. If someone down the road is closer and wants them, I'd transfer them over. Right now, the only one I know is my cousin, whose grandmother is a Krakar. She is not into researching genealogy but has had me do her family research for her. She is am amazing quilter. Has won 1st place at quilt shows. I know some people are extremely strict about Find A Grave rules (I am not one either). I, like you, just want the info up there for others to have access to.

RE: Marcus Krakar
You did offer. He is my cousin's family on her maternal side. Her father is on my line. Actually, when Marcus/Markus Kraker came over to America, his name is spelled Kraker on the passenger records. But all the newspaper articles are under Krakar, and the biographies (several) of him are Krakar and his children all use Krakar. It is possible that his name was Kraker at one time but he changed it to Krakar. Even his marriage certificate that I have a copy of has his name written as Kraker but I know it's not his handwriting - it's the priests and they spelled it however it sounded back in those days. However, he is famous back in Joliet, even to this day, and he is known as Krakar - not Kraker. It is up to you. I am not direct family under Find A Grave rules.

Do you have any clue as to whom this Hilding Peterson is related to as "brother". Are there other family members in a family plot or any indication as to parents, siblings, or wife buried adjacent to him? There appears to be lots of Petersons in this cemetery but no way to ascertain connections. Thanks for any input you might have.
