There was no marker for Margaret by John and her name was not listed on the cemetery board. The board may only list those with markers though. I will check one more thing and let you know if I find anything.

Hi, I'm not related but, after your message, I did try to find more information. So far, like you, I haven't found the connection either. I love to research so I will let you know if I find anymore information on the infant or the McConkie family.
Best Regards - Jody

You misunderstood the story of "Rena", my grandmother's sister. The story was Rena went to Virginia, not California, to seek a remedy for TB. I'm the one who thought I had found Rena in California at a later date. She would not have walked, that's silly, but she could have gone with either of her brothers that went to California. Fact: Her brother Silas was shot and is buried there. And as a matter of interest: One of Rena's grandsons worked 2 ranches in California before enlisting in the Army Air Corps.(documented)

Yes the grave is unmarked. I did indicate that in the caption as well as the location. I know where the grave is located as I run this cemetery. If you have any questions please give us a call. Thank you

I don't have any information, but I live here and work on campus. I'm going to go see if I can find anything in the library archives this coming week. I'll let you know what I find. If I can find photos of the inside, I'll ask for permission to post.

|Ellen Cook Sims||re Harvey Soper|
I am curious regarding a photo and bio that lists you as the contributor. Harvey Soper was my father's half brother, son of Sarah Elizabeth Cook, my grandmother, I have been researching Cooks buried at Cedar Hill, trying to print out headstones and info on relatives, it is a tedious task. Are you related to to any of the Cook, Herman, or Soper families? My name is Ellen Cook Sims, my mother is Catharine Kefauver Cook Romans, she passed away in 1992. I would appreciate any info you could share with me, Thank you

|Susan Eskite||RE: William Herbert|
Thank you for transferring great-grandpa Herbert's memorial to me. Yes, I would be grateful if you would transfer Josephine Clarke Herbert's page to me also. Thank you for setting them up. I have lots of information for their pages.
I sent you an invitation via Ancestry to view my tree. I sent it to "email@example.com." If that is no longer your email, please let me know. I know you have been doing genealogy much longer than I have so I'm very interested in any additions or corrections that you have, especially back to Scotland. (I just started this spring and my Ancestry subscription is only USA records.) Do you have a tree on Ancestry?
I'd also like to know if you have any old photos or portraits. Mom had a great portrait of a fellow I'm pretty sure is William Bell born abt 1823. I am really good with a scanner and Photoshop, I also have a nice photo setup for larger images.
I did have my DNA done via Ancestry. It's very interesting, but hasn't helped me with my dead ends.
If you want to email me directly, you can write me at firstname.lastname@example.org

|Susan Eskite||RE: Mary C. Greenfield Herbert|
Please accept my apologies for failing to reply to your message. I am Susan Eskite, and your great aunt Estelle is my maternal grandmother through her daughter Betty (Elizabeth) Cameron Eskite. Betty is first cousin to your mother, Alice. You and I have met, most memorably at Alice's 90th birthday party.
I do know Josephine's maiden name: Clarke
Poor Freddie died of spinal menengitis and infantile paralysis. Apparently, his mother (Mary Catherine Greenfield Herbert) never got over his death, and even attended seances to try to communicate with him. Her death certificate indicates that she died from poisoning, suicidal. Poor thing.
I will send you an invitation via Ancestry so you can see the family tree I've been working on.

Hello, I saw in your bio that you have Williams in your direct line and I was wondering if you were related to Bessie Williams Nave # 152596632. I just saw that you created that memorial and was curious because I believe her sister Nancy is my great geat grandmother but I have not been able to prove it (She died when my great great grandmother was 3). If you are related to this Williams family or have any information on them I would greatly appreciate anything that you could tell me. Thanks! Caleb Edwards

|Jerry Swafford||RE: Charles Wesley Swafford # 93444391|
The middle name of "Ann" comes from her marriage license from Clark County, Illinois. I got a copy of her marriage record to John Wesley Swafford from the University of Illinois library records I found online. I can make a copy of it and send it you through e-mail if you would like it.
As far as where John and America were born and died has been a mystery to the family. I have them both last known to have lived in Marion County, Indiana. John was to have been born in Brownsburg (Hendricks Co.), Indiana in 1825..but no exact date has been found. American Ann (I also have her as Rebecca Ann "America" Hardin was born in 1830 in Indiana. They were married Apr 24, 1849 in Clark County, Illinois, which I thought was an odd place to get married.
John died sometime in the late 1870's cause Ann was listed as a widow in the 1880 U.S. Census living in Boone County, Perry Township in Indiana.(Census: 1870 Indiana, Boone, Perry Twp, Page 189B
I have planned a trip to Boone, Hendricks and Marion Counties this spring.

I noticed you added some information for Sherman Leslie Hardin. If you are related and would like to manage this memorial, please let me know. I simply documented the cemetery, so I have no claim to those interred there. I would rather have family manage them if they desire.

|Neff Family Historical Society||NAVE CEMETERY - Carter Co., TN, Siam|
You and Linda did an amazing job of completing and photographing the memorials in the Nave Cemetery in Siam across from the Siam Baptist Church. We know it was almost a two day effort to complete and will be appreciated by the Nave and related family Members buried there. This also updates Dianne Snyder's listing published under the title of "Cemeteries of Carter County, Tennessee."

Good luck in your adventure. I will check out that other name you mentioned and see if it is in the directory. The little things like initials being different and among many others is always a puzzle. I still don't know what one of my great grandfathers "real" first name is--stone says one, death records says another, land records state another and haven't located his marriage records yet, but hoping it is the same as one of them. Good Luck!!
