John W Ploof
As a matter of interest, Irene WinnefredWright Richter, was the G G Grandaughter of John W Ploof, who went to Nebraska after the Civil War. If you go on find-a-grave to a Maple Hill Cemetery, Eaton County, Michigan, you will find the grave of Lucinda Ploof, his mother. From there you will find his father, siblings, etc. if you wish, you can trace Lucinda's family all the way back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, arriving in 1640. John Ploofs father and four brothers served in the Civil War. The father returned crippled and blind. Of the sons, only John survived. Find Lucinda's sister, Mary Hubbard, and you will find that their father served in the war of 1812 and their grandfather, who raised them, served in the American Revolution. These are interesting people. Contact me, if you wish. Robert Phillips

Della Carr Wright
I have been researching Della's Carr family inasmuch as my grandmother was her niece and guess that makes me Della's gr-gr niece. In any event, I have searched tirelessly for Della's mother, Eliza Hall Carr. The last child, Harry, was born in 1876; the family was living in Page County, Iowa, near Coin, in the 1880 census and the dad, S.P. was listed as a widower, so Eliza died sometime between 1876 and 1880. I have even hired a genealogist to research and of course no death records in Iowa prior to 1880. If you have done any research, have you come up with anything? Thanks for your response. Orlin Elmer Lawson
Hi Janet, We have Orlin Lawson married to Ida Borseth in 1935 and 2nd wife as Adeline Everson in 1951 per family info but we haven't found them on find a grave yet. Just don't know about Vivian Wetherby; if you have more info or her memorial number, we will check on that. Orlin was our first cousin but we didn't know him; we live on the east coast.

Baby Nagel
Hello, Information for both children came from the Maloney Funeral Home. At this time it is not online. Also, since these two memorials do not follow the transfer guideline, I would rather not transfer. If you have extra information, I would be happy to add it.

Please go to find a grave, click the "Help with find a grave" link on the left column and learn how to request a photo, how to ask for info to be added and how to request linking of family members. Also, read the part on transfers and who are direct relatives.

I know this sounds picky but there is good reason. I'm dealing with over 10,000 memorials. I get multiple requests every day and if not done the find a grave way, it takes a lot of my time.

I like to do things the Find a Grave way. I have the photos so do a photo request on each memorial, Ray and Inez. I only transfer memorials to direct descendants per Find a Grave rules.

I wasn't complaining or looking for an apology. After all, genealogy is about asking a lot of questions. Tell me how Ray is related to you, then do a photo request. I'm amazed at how many people send or ask for info and never ask for a photo. I have 10,000 photos waiting for requests.:>)

Transfers done
Good luck in Ia, Nb and Mo. Especially nice if you could find Sarah York.
PS-When you ask for a transfer, send your # in the message. Otherwise you are asking someone to track back to you to do you a favor. Just a thought. Happy hunting!

Also, you can contact Michelle Gullett at the OWH and she can look up Della or James obits and perhaps that will tell you where they are interred. There is an Omaha Obits site...I did find this. Not sure if its him but it would show which issue of the OWH. Says West Lawn. You could call them....I've done that too.

RE: Minnie E. Fisk Wright
I don't think my last response got thru.

Thank you so much for the info on Della, Harry and Guy.....even though I'm not related to them, I will put them into my tree as they were Minnie's step son's. I'll ask my cousins who have some information and see if they have anything on them. Minnie's son, George, who was my grandfather....moved to Tucson in 1958 after she passed and all family info passed on to my Uncle who has been unwilling to share any info. Do you have a maiden name for Della? Do you know if she or James ever lived in Tecumseh, NE? I have a book that has a compilation of info from the Tecumseh Chieftain and has some info on my family so it may Della's or James's as well.

Do you know if James lived in the house on Sprague with his first wife? I guess I can go back and check the 1910 census now that I know her name.

Please let me know if you'd like any pics I have of the house or Minnie. I would be happy to email them to you.

A question for you. Do you have any ties to a Virginia (Sempek) Richter? She passed away August 2011 in Omaha.

RE: Minnie E. Fisk Wright
Hello Janet.

Yes, Minnie's 2nd marriage was to a James C. Wright. I'm not sure when she married him....sometime between 1910 and 1920 Census. Do you have any records? Minnie's maiden name was Fisk, then she married my great grandfather Charles Curran, and then they either divorced or he deserted her or something. They lived in Tecumseh, NE. Guessing she met James there or Omaha NE. She and James had a house on Sprague Street. I have pictures of her and the house. Do you have any of James or know where he is buried?

You can reach me at
