|Bonnie Marston||Rachel Montandon Sparkman|
Just by way of introduction: My grandmother was Mattie Sparkman, daughter of William Sparkman and Bettie Witt. William Sparkman's brother was Temple Sparkman who was married first to Permelia Hunter and then to Rachel Montandon. Temple's daughter, Willie Luetta Sparkman married Almarine Brawley Ford (youngest brother of Mattie's husband/my grandfather, John R. Ford). Mattie, Willie, Almarine and John R. are all buried here in Seattle, WA. Willie and Almarine had no children.
This message is about Rachel Sparkman -- I'm not sure why exactly, but the Findagrave entry for Rachel says she was born in Ireland. She was actually born in West Virginia and her parents were Francois Louis Montandon and Julia Renaud. From Denmark.
I have documentation, which I am happy to share, but in the meantime her father is at Find A Grave Memorial# 125748030.
Let me know if you have any questions (or comments).

No I don't. I live in Nashville now but grew up in Quebeck from 1975-1987. I happened to be up this weekend for a wedding and thought I would see who needed pics from local cemeteries.

I've updated her memorial page with the information you sent and linked her page with her parent's pages. Are you related? Would you like a transfer? :)

|Teri Wheeler||John W. Stipe|
I just received John W. Stipe's death certificate. He was buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. I created a memorial for him and linked him to his parents. I also requested a photo of his headstone. He was my grandfather's half brother.

George W Stipe was my great grandmother's (Susannah Elizabeth Sparkman) first husband. Here is my Ancestry link:
I know his son, John W Stipe, died 03 Aug 1940 in Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas. I emailed the Garland County Library last November and they wanted $30 an hour to look for his obit! I might have to make a road trip.

|Armstrong History||Ash Flat Cemetery, Arkansas|
Hi, I read your description about the forgotten Ash Flat Cemetery in Arkansas. I was wondering if you had been out to the cemetery? I was wondering if there is a grave marker for J Armstrong? Are you located near this cemetery? It would be great to see if there is a marker for Armstrong. Thanks for any info.

|Ray Sparkman||RE: Sparkman's|
Sorry, I thought the message would automatically tie in with the grave site image. My parents were John W. and Alma B. Sparkman, and their grave site is at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
I grew up in Boulder, but my older siblings lived all over, as my father was a Navy pilot for 22 years. He studied meteorology while in the service, and he joined NCAR on retirement in 1962 and we moved to a house on Dartmouth. My wife and I purchased the house from my mother's estate last month.
I have dates of birth and death somewhere, but the lineage that I remember off the top is:
William Sparkman (Rosanna) - originally from North Carolina, fought in the Revolutionary War, settled near Nashville
James Colden Sparkman
John William Sparkman - fought in the Civil War - we have the diary he kept
John William Sparkman II (moved from Tennessee and settled near Birmingham)
John William Sparkman III - my father (who was also known as "Jack")
There is some Texas connection, though. We lived in Texas in '63 - '64, when my dad was tasked with establishing a weather balloon facility in Palestine. My father's brother Tom lived in Corpus Christi. I lived in Dallas from '82 -'85, working for Arthur Andersen. My cousin Mike was a partner in the Houston office at the same time.

Wish I could have located it, but all records I checked as well as walking the cemetery indicate there is no headstone.

I think I've transferred all of them to you. Let me know if I can further assist you.

I'm sitting on the Caney Fork river tonight at our vacation home. We bought down here in TN back in the early 1990's and love coming here for our vacations from our home in WI. We lived in VA for 18 years when we bought the home but moved back to the Midwest in 2002. My sisters first marriage was to a Readyville boy and she lives in the Knoxville area now with her second husband so we have a few ties to the area. I enjoyed going to the cemeteries around us here in White, Warren, and Van Buren counties and photographing them. I've done the same in our county in WI and I'm please to pass them on to family to enjoy. Sue

Hello Roy, Ellis C.'s father was George Bailus Sparkman, and his mother was Sophiers D. Johnson. He married Mattie Kerr 30 June 1920, White County, Tennessee. The info I have also states that George T. Sparkman shares their marker, born 25 Nov 1926, died 28 Nov 1967.

Hi, I just noticed the flag you posted on this memorial in the photo section. I am thinking that this would be better left in the flowers section as it is not a photo. It is interesting though that he was in the civil war, I was not aware of that (I had searched but found no reference anywhere for him as a soldier - I thought he was a minister). You may want to give the creator of the memorial that info so she can put it in the biography portion of the memorial. Thanks!

"NOTE: Please e-mail or call (972-238-7111) Restland for plot information BEFORE submitting a photo request."
Restland Memorial Park is an extremely large cemetery (over 400 acres)and without the plot location it is impossible to find. I tried to get the information but they will only research the location for a family member. Sorry but anyone trying to help you get a photo of your loved one headstone, needs your help first. Without your help, don't expect a photo, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
You can e-mail - http://www.restlandfuneralhome.com/home/contact_us.html
or call - (972-238-7111) Hours are from 9am-6pm CST Monday-Sunday.
Thank you and have a great day.
