Vickers at Edensor
I've added a few more photos of Vickers' headstones to the site. I've still got one or two more which I'll add over the next day or two. Perhaps something there will be useful to you. Good luck!

RE: Elizabeth Vickers
Here is the transcription for the 4 members of the Vickers family named on the headstone:

In memory of George Vickers, who died July 16th 1814 aged 70 years.

Also Elizabeth Vickers, wife of the above, who died December 10th 1825 aged 87 years.

In memory of Mary Vickers who died June 18th 1824 aged 50 years.

How lov'd how valu'd once, avail thee not
To whom related or by whom begot,
A heap of dust alone remains of thee,
Tis all thou art and all the Proud shall be.

Also Hannah Ann, daughter of George and Catherine Vickers who died February 24th 1820 aged 14 years.

Regards, Daniel

He was also my Dr and a cousin. I have made the connetions and added your info, and I will be happy to transfer his memorial. He div Ann late in life and in the 80's married a Giddens lady who was much younger then he was. It caused a lot of tongue waggling, but I can not think of her 1st name right now.

Oops, missed the first paragraph.
Unfortunately I don't remember exactly where it is.
In 1989 I went to Hephzibah to look for the cemetery. I stopped at the Fire Station to ask if anyone there knew the location. None of the fireman had ever heard of the Murphey cemetery. As I was leaving an elderly man walked in and he knew the location and directed me to the site.

RE: Murphey Cemetery
From Palmer Shepherd:
Here's what I remember:
It was not very far from the fire station. My memory says it was 1 to 2 miles but that may be off. It was on a two lane paved road, beside the road was a cultivated field. Beyond the field was a stand of trees abut 100 to 200 yards off the road. There was an open gate with a two rut dirt path that allowed me to drive around the side of the field and up to the stand of trees. The cemetery was heavily overgrown, markers were eroded and some were broken. Some of the graves only had footstones. Also, there were several sink holes indicating burials that were unmarked.

Wish I could be of more help and I regret that I did not write down the location at the time. Please let me know if you have any luck finding the location and if so, what you find there 25 years after my visit.

Willing to give it a try?

Still doing some research on the Sand Hill location. There appear to be multiple places with this name in GA.

No, I sure don't. I sent a message to Palmer Sheppard (#47722480). He had taken some photos there before. If & when I hear from him, I will get back to you. Thanks =)

Hester Ann Ivey Hancock #33566365
Hi:

Please check the date of her death. The photo states 1 Sep 1902 and her death record states 7 Sep 1902.

What relation is she to you? She is my great X's 2 grandmother. I don't have much on the Ivey Family and if you do, I'd would love to add that information to my tree.

Thank you in advance

Hello,

You added such a nice picture of the inscription for "Ada", I wondering if you could to the same for her late husband, James Leonard Spivey. I am rewriting a family history and his inscription would be a nice touch.

Thanks,
Dianna Flynn

Usually you have to get find a grave involved. They will research it and make a decision. I guess the could combine them, I'm not sure. I will look at them tomorrow just to see what you are referring to.

RE: Linnie Spikes
Hi,
We made photos of all the readable markers in the cemetery and created Find A Grave memorials for them. There are numerous Not Readable and Unmarked Graves in the cemetery.
