|Robyn Heyne||David & Dawn Petry|
Hi Glennise, when at Piako Cemetery yesterday there were a number of Petry graves including a David and Dawn Petry in the cremated ashes section. I have an image of the headstone in case it is needed. Thanks Robyn

I never heard back from the person that I messaged on Ancestry regarding the WWI medal of James Elmore Hargreaves. I have managed to find another relative. So fingers crossed. It would be nice to be able to get the medal returned to a relative.
Will keep you updated.

I will ask Find A Grave to change the NZ listing to a memorial.

Thanks for photographing this grave. I'm also a family researcher and have a special group site on Facebook so I can now share this! Are you in William's family tree? I haven't spotted you there, so I'm assuming you cleaned it up anyway.

|Patricia Hargreaves||RE: Papakura Cemetery|
This is uncanny as have received an email today from a cousin of mine whose old friend has a WWI medal for James Elmore Hargreaves and is wanting to find relatives to be able to return to the family. I'm not related to him, but have found someone on Ancestry.com who has James in their tree and have messaged them. Just waiting to hear back from them.
I'm gobsmacked to receive two emails on the same day relating to this person!

I would be honored to accept the transfer.
I am trying to add info to existing or create a listing for all Higgins soldiers North & South.

He is a relative of mine interred in the Papakura Cemetery. Would you be a sweetie and transfer the memorial over to me. My ID #46861461
Sadly, Leslie was killed in a road accident aged only 25 years.

Apologies for not replying earlier to you. I am from the West line which includes the Mudfords. I was told this information by a cousin - I just cannot recall whom right at the moment. There is a family book on the Hartley lines and a lot of information has been shared amongst us. It is a pity I cannot get my hands on the book itself as it is out of print and nobody will let other family members take the book away to borrow in case it is not returned lol.
As with hearsay; it is not always 100 percent, so happy to correct anything that is not correct.

|Michael Jennings||Augustus CALVERT|
I realize the MI for Capt Augustus CALVERT is deceptive. The Captain actually died 3 Jul 1865.
Sadly, Captain Calvert died as a result of a gunshot wound inflicted when his fowling piece was accidentally discharged as he climbed through a fence.
The date of 29 Jul 1863 is when his son Sylvester was killed during a Maori attack on their farm.
Both stories appeared in local newspapers.
Captain Calvert was my 3 x great grandfather.

Hi Glennise I went to Hamilton Cemetery this morning looking for your request and sorry there is no head stone for Harold Harvey

My pleasure to help out, as many others have helped me on this site. I was literally metres away, visiting my great grandparents' grave, so I am glad I checked the site for other requests in Waikaraka.

I don't have control over the cemetery photos. Find a Grave manages those and picks which one goes onto the memorials.
Send an email to email@example.com with a link (URL) to the cemetery and the name of the cemetery.
