Photo request Infant Lane @ Ross Bay Cemetery
Hi, Gail: We will strive to get this photo for you on the weekend, weather permitting. There is not likely to be a marker in that part of the cemetery, but keep your fingers crossed.

We note you've linked stillborn male Lane to his parents, and his father to his parents. According to the BC Cemetery Finding index, Myrtle's parents James Lane & Martha nee Lawrence are also buried in Fraser Cemetery, so you might be able to track down more info about them.....

RE: Lane castor cemetery
You're welcome Gail ~ glad I was able to help. I've transferred all the Lane family that I had added to the Cemetery.

Lane records that I entered in other cemeteries are:

#117213009 Richard Lane (1885-1965)
#121623902 George A Lane (1911-1997)
& #121623898 Maudie S Lane (1915-1987)
#92037143 John Ralph Lane (1854-1930)
#92037148 Mrs L A (Railton) Lane (1859-1943)

Please let me know if there are any of the above that you would like transferred to your care as well by using the 'edit' tab.

Thanks!

RE: Bruderheim Movarian cemetery
Hi Gail

I searched the Alberta Genealogical Society cemetery database for Carolina Dreyer
the only Dreyers I could find are not in Bruderheim, 1 in Red Deer and 3 in Fairview. AGS has not even got a record for Emma! I did search the cemetery records for all the Carolines, if you could tell me what year Emma died, I will look to see if there is a Caroline with matching date of death but different surname. I am guessing you have tried the local family history book for that area to see if the family are mentioned in there.

William Third - Watrous
Hi Gail,
I shall be declining your edit request and thought it only polite to explain why.

According to the book at the cemetery William's date of birth is 1813 and his death is 1889.
Here is a link to the Saskatchewan Cemetery Project page for Watrous. Their photo is much easier to read than the one I took.

B.J. Waters
Walter Ross Lane
Hi Gail, and thank you for more info on Walter Lane. I have added the information except for one thing: The system does not have a choice for the town of Belmore in Bruce County. If you believe that town is actually there and you want it added, you can write to geography@findagrave [dot com] and see if they will add it to the list. If that happens, let me know and I will change Walter's memorial. For now, I just have his birthplace as Bruce County.

Thank you!

Tierney
Is it a real birth certificate or one done years after the birth? Why I ask is because the church records show that her parents, William Tierney and Hannah Helene Mulligan were married on August 19, 1873 and by the 1881 Renfrew North, Ontario census, they had their first 3 or their 4 children: John, Mary Gertrude and George. In this census, they say that they were all born in Ontarioand ages given in descending order: 33, 27, 6, 5, 2.

By the 1901 Nelson, Kootenay, B.B. census Stella is now with them and their desecending ages are (for William, Hanna, John, Gertrude, George and Stella): 51, 43, 23, 21, 19, and 15. In this census, William only is born in Ontario, Hanna & John & Gertrude & George are all born in Quebec and Stella in the US, saying that she entered Canada in 1898.

By the 1911 Vancouver, B.C. census, they are living at 1676 Nicola St and give their ages as: William-51, Helene-50, John-29, George-26 and Estella-20. Gertrude Mary has gone - married in 1903 in Nelson to Samuel Markham Bridges. In this census, both William and Hanna Helene say that they were born in Ontario and John, George and Estella say that they ere all born in the US.

As you can see, their ages and places of birth seem to be quite confused. If, as you think, Estella was born in 1893, that would leave a gap of 14 years between her and younger brother George, which isn't very credible given they are all closer in age in the various censuses. As an aside William Tierney's parents, James Tierney and Bridget O'Brien were born in county Tipperary, Ireland and died and are buried in Carlsbad Springs, Ontario

Tierney
No, that's okay. I'm a Tierney and check all the ones in Vancouver to see if they belong in my family. I would gather the papers you have must contain information provided by her husband and that whe wasn't quite 'accurate' with her age (not uncommon at all then or now!)as it's hard to believe that her parents would enter an 8-yr-old as 15 in the 1901 census. Guess we'll never know. I see someone has her born in North Dakota in 1886 and dying and buried in Vancouver in 1928 (same husband). I always believe the death date on tombstones or records, but always wonder about the birthdate and whether or not the informant really knew the exact date or year. C'est la vie. Thanks for the offer.

Estelle Naomi Tierney Land
Her death is shown as at age 35 and she is aged 15 in the BC 1901 census. I think she was born in the 1880s, not 1893.

Hoag Requests
I was able to find your requests for the Hoag's in Lakeview. But it does not seem that Henry has a marker or even his name on the main stone. There are 4 smaller stones, father, grandmother and 2 mother stones plus Sophia's. There were more names on the main marker so I have no idea who is where or not marked. The name on the name stone was LeFeurve. If you need anything else, let me know and I will see what I can do.
