RE: Col. James B. Thornton
Sorry, but I don't have control of that memorial. You would have to send an edit request to the creators of the memorial and they will do it.

You might want to put out another request in case someone is able to obtain the key from the church.

FAG101455638 The mausoleum is shown in the picture. I believe there is a lock on the door, but I will check.

Cedar Grove Cemetery Portsmouth Va
I have gotten many requests for Cedar Grove/Oak Grove Cemeteries in Portsmouth Va. There is no office there and no contact number. I went there physically. Today, 9-15-11, I saw that someone posted that the plots begins alpha, I did not know that and when I got those requests (over 20 by now) it was those really, really hot days/weeks. I amy get them toghether and attempt them in the cooler months (October/November) No promises. I will soon work on Cedar Grove in Norfolk. Cedar Grove/Oak Grove in Portsmouth , Va are difficult, I suppose that is why I am receiving soooooo many requests. I did go out there with the requests that had been sent and not knowing their system, I was not able to find a one. Sorry, I did try. My wife helped. Hopefully, we will get out there.

Thomas Hume
Catherine,

I saw your request for Thomas Hume at Oak Grove Cemetery. When I saw the plot location I knew that something was wrong since Oak Grove plot locations start with an alpha character. I did some checking and Thomas Hume is actually buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth. There is already an on-line memorial for him if you look at Cedar Grove. You may want to cancel your request at Oak Grove and resubmit using the Cedar Grove Cemetery memorial. You can look up all the Cedar Grove burials at this site:

Jeff
