RE: Benjamin Franklin Gann
Hello Darrell,

Wow, guess my age is showing !!

I should have typed Caroline McKinnon, #99854116.

She is buried in McKendree Cemetery, Lafayette Co., MO.

If you have any other Ganns whom you would want to transfer, I would be happy to have them.

Benjamin Franklin Gann
Hello Derrill,

Many thanks for posting.

May I suggest a change?

Benjamin Franklin Gann was NOT the son of Oliver clark Gann and his wife, Susannah Margaret Green.

Benjamin married their daughter, Ruth Amanda Gann on 12 SEp 1869 in Odessa.

Benjamin is the son of Thomas Gann and his wife, Rebecca, whose maiden name is unknown.

As you may know, several people have posted this incorrect relationship. Since I am the 2nd great grandson of Oliver, I have been searching his entire fmaily for many years....I am now 86 and still going sstrong!!

The proof for my statements comes from Oliver's Bible and from his last will and testament in which he names Ruth Amanda as his daughter.

I hope my comments will not offend you in any way.

Helen M {Fock} Suhr
Helen was born 1842 Germany. Married a Suhr ( John Henry, the first ), on find a grave you have her spouse as John Henry Suhr Born 1878. John 1878 was her son, not her spouse. Helen was 36 when John 1878 was born, I doubt she waited for him to grown up and then marry him. I would say he is her son. Possible with John Suhr Sr. could you please fix this error. Thanks a bunch. Vicki Jones 5/7/2017

Chester Dale Campbell
Dear Derrill,

Thank you so much for putting up the listing for my great uncle Chester Dale Campbell who died of his wounds on Okinawa at the end of WWII.

On the listing you have his date of death as May 20, 1945. Please be aware that the date of May 22, 1945 that is on his headstone is the correct date and matches military records I found.

Also, thank you kindly for taking and posting the photograph. I am so far away and may not get the opportunity to visit his burial sight.

I am related to Dale through his mother, who was my grandfather's sister.

Again, thank you.

Martin V. White #94571693
Can you tell me anything about the above Martin White? I'm researching my 3rd great-grandfather, Elder Martin White #50298335 and find it interesting that this Martin White is buried in the same cemetery that Capt. Samuel Boone, a relative, is buried in also and that both are from Kentucky.

Akes Family of Kentucky
Hi Darrill!

Found an old archived copy of your "Akes Family of Kentucky" online ( assuming you are the author, of course.

Have you added any more to this line at all, or is it pretty much as is? James H Akes was my 2GGF.

Would love to learn more about his father Jeff (3GGF)and his wife Minnie Howe (Indian?). This is the first I've read about possible Indian blood in the family.

Thanks for all you do!

Are you the Darrill Langen who contributed to "Descendents of Johanna Frederica (Lotschberg) Lotspeich" by Bob Lotspeich?

If so, I would like to pick your brain about Lethe Crawford (1793-1834) who was the 2nd wife of Jacob Jacoby.

Bill S.
Parthena White Williams Atkinson
Hi Derrill, I wanted to ask you to consider correcting the name of Parthena W. Atkinson on Find A Grave record #75572138. She is my 3d great grandmother. Her maiden name was Parthena White Williams - Her father was Daniel Williams and her mother was Mary White. She married John E. Atkinson. The way the record reads now suggests that her maiden surname was WHITE, when actually is was WILLIAMS. Let me know if you have questions. Also, if you want to transfer the record to me, I'd be pleased her have her. Many thanks, Bill

Howdy, I am Karen Renee' Baxter Hill Gorman and I have been searching (till the cows come home) for my Momma's first hubby- Thomas Wickecliff Hill. His siblings were listed in the 1877 Atlas of LayFayette Co., Missouri excerpts under Davis Hill.
I kinda went searching backwards to find Thomas Wickecliff and got this far. Nannie Georgia Hill Avitt is Thomas's sibling. There was another sibling- her name was Maggie D. Hill.

I have gotten this far through a lot of guessing. My Momma is Joyce Mae Johnson and she married Thomas on March 31, 1945 at Washington, Kitsap Co. Thomas was in the US Marines at the time. My momma was 18 and she worked in the shipyards at Bremerton, so I am thinking they married in this town??.

Nannie Georgia Hill Avitt Find A Grave # 81227848, said they would retake pictures soon, due to last ones not clear. I am guessing it was you that put that note on there, since it says created by you. That was 2011 and so I am wondering, a few things- well many lol! but will only ask a few. Will there be any better pics soon? Do you go to grave and take? If not can you relay this info to photographer so they can look for Thomas Wickecliff Hill and his other sibling, Maggie D. Hill?
I sure would be overly grateful and appreciative!
I have only been able to find Momma marriage certificate to Thomas and above info fits- due to the only Thomas Wickecliff Hill name I have ever found. Here I thought because of that unusual name- this would be a breeze, but instead it's as if he dropped off the face of the earth. All help wanted from anyone in the know of Thomas Wickecliff.
Blessings, Karen Renee' Baxter Hill Gorman

Bob Thompson
William Carter, Mt. Tabor Cemetery
William Carter (b. 1829 d. 1917) is my gg-grandfather. You cited information from his death certificate in the information on the tombstone picture page. Do you have his death certificate? I have his probate record as well as his obituary from the local paper. If you have his death certificate could you share a copy of that with me. I would be more than happy to provide a copy of his obituary; it is beautifully written.
