Michael Noriega
I am also a grandson of Emma Morales De Noriega and she was daughter of the Hernandez-Guerra family. Now as for the Hernandez-Guerra family was and still is very rich in the state of San Luis Potosi. They make the Cajeta Coronado and Herdez Foods in Mexico. Many of the Hernandez family are my fathers cousins from that area of Venado and city of SLP.

RE: Vialpando
In reply to your 2011 question regarding linking to Vialpando, you need to locate or create memorials for each individual you wish to link. I don't have any Vialpandos apart from Nievicitas, so I don't know which you'd link. Would love to link her to her family, tho! Good luck!

RE: Noriega..
Pedro and Salomon Noriega were brothers. Salomon married Esther Morales. My grandfather, Angel Noriega, was their brother. Salomon and Angel (brothers) married sisters, Esther and Emma Morales. I will check with my parents regarding the other names you gave me but it appears that you are probably related to one of the sisters to the above brothers.

RE: Noriega, Venado
It is a possibility that Daria could have been a sibling to Pedro, as I am missing the names of three of the 12 children.

RE: Noriega, Venado
Gabina Velazquez is my great grandmother. She was married to Elias Noriega and they had 12 children, one of which was Pedro Noriega. They are from Venado, SLP, Mexico.

RE: Alphonso Archuleta, Monticello
Sorry, that is the way the paper is printed. I don't know where to find one without the words over the top. When I get a chance, I can go over and look at it closer and see if I can see any names that are not visible on this photo. Let me know if you need me to do this. have a great week.

Amalia Ybarra
Hi, I fulfilled your photo request for Amalia Ybarra in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Salt Lake City. I believe it is her, although I don't know why there is no death date on the stone. Her husband is also on the stone, so I posted the picture on his memorial as well. There is nothing on the back of the stone.

Vialpando - Sacred Heart Cemetery Fruita
I see that the claim expired or was cancelled. Did you still want to see if there is anything for Maria out in Fruita? Denise

I was out last weekend but still snow on the ground but should be better this weekend if you are still interested

Maria Vialpando
The snow has finally melted and unless another storm comes in before the weekend, I will tromp on out to Sacred Heart and hope I can find Maria's grave. Do you happen to know if she had a Headstone or flatstone or nothing? Thanks, Denise

Maria Alice Lopez Vialpando
I called Sacred Heart Church and spoke to a woman who keeps the card catalog. She found the record of internment. It has her name, date of burial which was 3/11/1939. It also lists her parents Fred and Mary Lopez. The only other record is envelope #3903 but no section or lot. This means I'll have to try and search the cemetery. Do you know if she had a headstone or flatstone because right now the ground is still covered with snow.

I am sorry but there is no name plate on the face of her niche, we photographed the column and the blank niche for you and made a notation on it.

John Sheppard
Vialpando Monticello City Cemetery
I sent 2 photos to your Vialpando memorial page on findagrave. The inscription on the bottom is very hard to read. I think it reads:

Rafael Velarde
Recuerde de su Hermana
Ronelia Vialpando

I am not sure if this is Rafael's or Ronelia's headstone. I don't speak Spanish but it looks like:

Rafael Velarde
Remember from his sister
Ronelia Vialpando

On the back of the cross are birth May 8, 19_1 and death Oct 8, 1973.

If you email me at:, I will send you the photos of the inscription.

Vialpando marker
It is possible to have a marker installed. As I was waiting to find Maria/Pauline's burial location, a man who works at the cemetery was explaining to another person how to do it. Riverside is managed by Fairmont Cemetery, so you could contact Fairmont regarding requirements for markers at Riverside. Fairmont does provide markers, but they may be pricey. You could probably get more value elsewhere. The section where Maria is buried uses horizontal markers, i.e. flat placques placed on the ground. Good luck.
