I noticed you had requests on the Fickes family. I have in my possession from our Family archives photo's of Dee, Jurd, Alice, darlene, Ann, Ada, and Ben Fickes. There is some family connection but not sure. If you would be interested in seeing any of these photographs let me know.

You have requested a photo for the grave of John above referenced.

Did you not look at his memorial page? There is a photo of the area where he is buried. John DOES NOT have a headstone so this is the best that can be done

We'll absolutely be happy to look for Walter next time we're in that area. But please make a regular photo request. (When we go to a cemetery, we refer to that list... This way we'll be sure to be looking even if we've forgotten the name between now and then) (Also, that way, someone else nearby might even get it for you sooner!)

Hi - You are very welcome! No, I definitely DO NOT MIND AT ALL if you post it wherever you would like to. I think is the absolute perfect place to use photos like these. I have an account myself and I just don't get it when people get so "touchy" about their photos being used. I take it as a compliment! In my bio, I actually give everyone permission to use my photos, so if there are ever any of mine you need to use, please feel free to do so. If I can help again, just let me know! Have a great week! Bobbi Long

RE: Jacob Fickes
Frances "Fannie" Hays Fickes was my GGGrandmother. Fannie's fifth husband was John Fickes.

Fannie was married five times: Elma Dorous Bresee; George Thomas (my connection); Bishop Shores, whom she divorced; Henry Frish; and finally to John Fickes. There were no children to Bishop Shores, Henry Frish or John Fickes.

Lineage: Sandra Carol (Witte) Taylor, Juanita Thomas (Witte) Varvel (Sugar Plains Cemetery, In), Arthur Noble Thomas (Sugar Plains Cemetery, IN), Ephraim Dorous Thomas (Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL), George and Fannie Hays Thomas. George died in the Civil War and I have not found him yet. And of course, Fannie is buried in the New Beals Cemetery.

I was at the New Beals Cemetery about two weeks ago. The cemetery seems to be well kept.

I was nice to hear from you.

John Fickes
Hello DJB... I am walking around Fee Fee Cemetery looking for 4-5 other markers. I will look for John Fickes too. Be aware that there is no regular office staff, so I need to get lucky to get into the office for a clue where to look. I will try, but will not claim request until I have an area where to look OR stumble upon it. J Wolf

Ambrose Waller Burton
Hi Donna,
Do you know where he is buried and/or his death date? I'm still looking for his wife, Martha Emily Fort, later married Jeptha C Parrish, and murdered in 1877 by Hade Brown. Sorry if I've already asked you this!

George Jeter
Hi Donna
I believe the person who added this memorial has the first name wrong and is the same as Clement. I could be wrong, but I didn't find a stone for a George Jeter when I photographed them all.
I know Randolph Co had several epidemics in the years after the Civil War, so maybe that's the cause of the deaths in 1867.
