Martha Rouse
Hi. There seems to be a little confusion here and it may be on my part because of the names. Martha Rouse (Watson)(Kirkland) Sirmon/Sirmons who married Jonathan Sirmon/s in 1820 in GA is buried at the Empire Church Cemetery in Berrien/Lanier County GA. She married in 1820/1 to Jonathan Sirman/s b 1800 and he died on his farm in a barn fire in 1850. He was the son of Josiah Sirmans b 1767 d 1830 and he is buried at Fender Cemetery in Berrien/Lanier County GA. The inscription on Martha "Patsy" headstone list all the children she had with each of her husbands. She had three/four husbands and she was born 1787. I can send a picture if that will help. The Jonathan born earlier and may be the brother to Josiah Sirman may have married a Martha Rouse also.

RE: Photos
My apologies, that info would have helped a lot. I was referencing Sonne Mae. I guess John Paul and Mary Ellen Tuffly would also be applicable.

The photos you have posted are wonderful. I really enjoyed being able to a face to a name...and to see such a resemblance in my mother is scary. Do I need permission to use them?

RE: Marriage Cade and Mary
Thank you again, Katherine. I'm also related to the Sirmans. Josiah Sirman and Catherine Kennedy were my 3rd gr grandparents.
I'm very keen on researching the female lines in my family tree.

Catherine Kennedy Sirman
I appreciate the beautiful photo of her headstone and the detailed bio.
I am hoping you can help me as I am searching for proof of the parents of Catherine (Kennedy) Sirman.

The names Cade Levi Kennedy and Mary Calcote are all over the ancestry trees, but no one lists their sources. I am applying to the DAR and they want proof.

Can you tell me the source of your informatioin?

Thank you again for the lovely photo.

RE: Joe Wells
You're welcome, Kathy. Yes, it is confusing since that area has tri-county boundaries with the cemetery in one county and the funeral home not far away in another county and the old hospital was in Fort Bend county. Many from Katy live in all three different counties and it's not so small anymore. Glad you got it resolved now.

I'm still curious... where was my name in all of this? Was it the cemetery photo that Find A Grave automatically adds to each memorial for Katy Magnolia?

RE: Joseph Emanuel Wells
Kathy, I did not post anything recently on any memorial. Are you sure you have the right person? Where did you see my name? Could you provide the link to this duplicate page as I can not find anything other than the page you created.

Also, if your uncle died in Katy, there is a cemetery in Katy, Waller County, Texas that is called Katy Magnolia Cemetery. The one you have listed is in Houston, a completely different cemetery. From what I could find on his obit at Schmidt Funeral Home, it looks like you put your uncle in the wrong cemetery. Still, I find no other Wells listed in either cemetery.

I understand it is very upsetting when someone duplicates a memorial page, especially if non-related. I hope you can get the issue resolved. But, please understand that you need to provide me with enough information, and that it is equally upsetting to me to be accused of participating on a duplicate site and I have no way to know what you are talking about or this Elaine person you mention. Do you have the link to her profile page?
Thanks, Kristi

Harry F. Roycraft
Harry's dates are April, 1882 (Lafayette, Chippewa County, WI) and 10 Aug 1942. His parents are John Attridge and Mary Elizabeth (Melville) Roycraft. All are buried in Prairie View Cemetery, Hallie, Chippewa County, WI. I don't have the numbers available, but would you please make the connections? Thanks, Vicky

Sirman's transferred.
Sometimes people do not want to transfer, because they have in the past, and their name has been removed. Most people leave the name, and just update the memorials. That is what is stated in the quidelines by findagrave.

As you can see several thousand of the hchc enteries have found good homes.

You might want to let the person see some of the memorials you have worked. Name and memorial number.

I enjoyed looking at the family photos.
This is a great site.

Have fun

Hi Kathy,

I connected him to his mother, but, I am confused about his father. You created memorial #73539481 as his father on July 18, then memorial #74013714 on July 27. Are htese dupes? If so, can they be merged? Or 1 deleted? Let me know so I can connect the correct one. Thanks!

Thank you so very much for taking the time out from your busy schedule to make the picture of the stone and what a wonderful surprise for the picture of Lizzy. That makes the people real when you can see a picture and they're not just a name or number.
I appreciate it so very much! God bless you.

From the Find A Grave FAQ's

What is Find A Grave?
Find A Grave is a resource for finding the final resting place of family, friends, and 'famous' individuals.

With millions of names and photos, it is an invaluable tool for the genealogist and family history buff. Find A Grave memorials can contain rich content including photos, biographies and dates. Visitors can leave 'virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the online cemetery experience.

Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.

Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.

Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should at the least fulfill the primary purpose, registration of the final resting place. If a memorial contribution corresponds with only the primary purpose, it has fulfilled its part of Find A Grave's mission and is not required to correspond with the secondary and tertiary purposes. Fulfilling the other two is welcomed, encouraged and deeply appreciated, but as far as Find A Grave's mission goes, a memorial page isn't lacking if it does not.

Find A Grave has grown to be a wonderful and valuable resource for genealogy and genealogists, but that is adjunct to its main purpose.

Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days
