RE: George Penniston
Thank you so much for your response. I joined the Lafayette Geneology Society several years ago while researching my "Rankins" family. This was my first dip in the ancestor search pool. The Rankins lived in Green Co and Lafayette Co in the early 1860. I was unable to trace any further back on this family.

I had read that little "history" of the Pennistons some time ago and forgot about it until I saw it on Find a Grave. My mother said her grandmother Ada Penniston must have taught her mother to do needlework and she always had clothes with some sort of crochet edging. Must have been passed down.

I will take up your offer for help as I go along. In the meantime, thanks again

Stella

George Penniston
Hi
My name is Stella and George Penniston is my 3rd ggrandfather. His son, Daniel, is my greatgrandmother's father. My greatgrandmother, Ada E. Penniston Rankins is buried in Des Moines, NM. I have only started researching the Penniston side of my family and found the grave posted. The account of their arrival in Wisconsin is very interesting and wondered whether it was posted by you or someone else.

Thanks for the time and effort you put forth for those who cannot travel to these areas.

Sweeney
I'm a gr-gr-dau of Henry Miles Sweeney, father of George Lyman Sweeney and noticed a difference in the siblings of George than the info I currently have. I have that George had a brother named Ira Homer and named a son the same. He also named a daughter Mary and Tyra and a son John. Also had a brother named Charles of whom I have a picture with his wife, and a sister named Almira & maybe Lucinda. My Henry M Sweeney was born in Ohio and son George in Wisconsin. I'm wondering if they are the same people? I don't have the info with me at present to check.

RE: Prisks
Hi, Kathy. I think you're referring to Catherine Prisk (b. 1847)? If so, Catherine's older brother, Samuel Prisk (1828-1877), is my maternal great-great grandfather, which would indeed make us cousins.

How in the world did you figure that out from Find a Grave?

I have the Prisk family tree on Ancestry.com. Do you belong to that?

Your cousin,
Kiffie

Hi Kathy,

My family connects to the John Scott/ Elizabeth Pennistone family found in the old Argyle Wisconsin Cemetery. Would love to compare notes. Would you mind dropping a line at:

CarolS5234@aol.com

I tried using your e-mail address and it wouldn't go through.

Thank you so much,

Best regards,

The death certificates are not posted so I sent a request for them to be posted. On the LDS site it lists mother as Willie Ruth Dearing (1912-) and Father Paul penniston (-). When I see the death certificates I will contact you again.

She was already linked to her husband. I made the changes. If you use the EDIT button in the top right-hand corner, it makes it much easier.

Hi Kathy,

I made all the changes you asked for. Would you like me to transfer management? I am not related to them.

Thanks,

Thanks Kathy. I just wish Find A Grave would get rid of the Blockhouse Cemetery in Lafayette Co. I have asked them twice with no luck. Oh well, I just tell people as I see it on Lafayette Co. Only think that I know what to do.

Block House Cemetery
Hi Kathy,

I'm working with the Gen Soc here to ID and map all cemeteries in Lafayette County. Block House is not on our list and I'm wondering if you can tell me where it's located. Want to make sure we don't leave any out!
Thanks.
Marci

William Joseph Brinigar 1826-1888
Saw on his memorial page your dedication and that he was your 3x great grandfather.

I see in the headstone photo that the last name is spelled Brinigar. Do you know if the family name was ever spelled Brinegar (with and e)? That is what I have listed and how it is spelled in the bio on his memorial page.

There is a Minerva Brinegar 1821-1922 in my family tree that appears to have been the sister of William and who married George Cross 1815-1848.

George Cross was my 1st cousin 4x removed.

RE: Blewett Info
I do not have a family tree on Ancestry, but would be willing to share additional information I have via mail - CD or printed copy.

I am updating information with the 1940 census data as it becomes available and have been waiting for Wisconsin to become searchable. Most of the Blewetts in other states which are searchable I have updated. So you may want to wait a few months until I can get through the census info.

My direct email address is dasmail@new.rr.com. You can contact me through there if you wish more information.

Jane - b.6 Jun 1827, Camborne - d.
15 Oct 1894 in Cuba City, Wisconsin, buried in Elk Grove, WI (Find A Grave Memorial# 78703781)- married Samuel Richards 4 Jan 1848 and had one child, John. After Samuels death Jane married Daniel MacFarlane (McFarlane) 15 May 1853 they had 9 children. The second child Daniel was my Great-Grandfather.

Blockhouse Cemetery
Hi Kathy
Just wanted to let you know that after I had requested a change in location for the Blockhouse Cemetery(over a year ago) Find A Grave has, still, not changed the location. Soooooooo - I have created another Blockhouse cemetery, located, where it is suppose to be, Grant Co. So you might want to take the ones that you put in Blockhouse, Lafayette Co. to Blockhouse Cemetery, Grant Co.,
Just thought I would let you know. I just switched all of mine to the correct one.
Hope that this makes sense.
