|joedavenport||RE: Davenport in Burke Cemetery|
Hi Amanda thanks for looking! John B Davenport is a mystery for us. We know that he's on the All Veterans Memorial memorial in Crystal. I think that he's the original Davenport in my family that moved to Montcalm County but we can't locate who his parents are either, but we do know that him and his parents were all born in NY.
There is an unaccounted for child based on the notes that his wife Emma Stover Davenport made in a scrap book claiming to of had 7 children but three remain in the early 1900s. I think that means that one moved away, three are alive and three more died very young.
There is another son referenced as Wisley in her notes.
Another son named Orton Otis Brower was from another husband Otis H Brower and he later moved to CA and died in San Diego.
I was also told that a small child buried at Burke had the grave stolen because it was a small lamb, so only the cemetery records will indicate who's actually there.
I also can't find Emma Davenport anywhere, but it seems like she should be near to John Davenport.
I haven't seen any evidence of a Shawn, but there is there are still names unaccounted for in my research.
Alice Emma Stover
Nina J. Davenport
Lina Pearl Davenport
Clyde Willard Davenport
Glenn Washington Davenport
I'm not even positive that her name was Alice Emma Stover-Davenport, she may have just been Emma Stover-Davenport.

Is there a way to find out their dates of birth or death? I have left messages with the director w/o any response.

All of the Nielsens in the plot & Petersens close by. (Neils & Maren had 3 daughters and 2 sons).
1. Karen Marie (Nielsen) Petersen (1855-1946)& her husband Jens Petersen (1855-1916)are buried there. They had Peter & and Meta Christine (Petersen) Hansen (1876-1954)& her husband Jens Peter JP Hansen (1871-1943), but I think they are buried in South Sidney Cemetery.
2. Johanna (b 1863 d 1937); she's in Big Rapids
3. Hans Nielsen (18701952)& his wife Christena (1880-1968) are buried there. They had two sons: Frank & Alfred
4. John Nielson (1876-1941)He is either there or the south Sidney cemetery & his wife Karen; they had 3 sons: Howard, Chester & Lester (I don't think they are buried there).
5. Meta - but she was in CA in 1937

If you happen to get back there could you send me something showing who & where the Petersens & Nielsens are buried?
Niels Nielsen (1825-1912) was my great great grandfather & I can't find his wife; there was mention that her name was Metta, but I am wondering if it's Maren; is she buried next to him?
Hans (1870-1952) & John (1876-1941) are his sons. John's obit says he is buried in the south Sidney cemetery but Find A Grave doesn't have him

Can you let me know if all any or all of the ones you took the other day were close by? I think they may have planned ahead & had many plots together.

Thank you so much for taking these. Do you recall if Peter who died in 1936 was burried near Karen's gravesite? I'm trying to find her son Peter Petersen who died in 1935 (according to her obituary, but that could have been a typo in the paper).

Thanks again Amanda - your photos have helped clear up an issue on our Rouch headstones. I've left a message request for Judy Hardy to swap out the photos for Anna C and Anna Caroline Roush. Your photos were definitively key to getting this puzzel resolved. Thank-you!

Thanks for the photos- I was wondering how you identified this headstone - from the photo I can't really tell and the memorial says "Note: no stone, info from burial record, parents-Andrew and Catherine Shenk Roush" It would be nice to have the current memorial holder to edit this text out if it is indeed incorrect. Thanks very much for your efforts on my Roush ancestors headstone.

Lydia would have been Sheila's Great-Grandmother.
This is the direct lineage by my research: John Jones~William Jones & Abigail Mills~Lydia A. Jones~Edwinna Lane Kempher~Gerald Kempher~Sheila Kempher. Sorry about the mis-information posted on my earlier post.

|Honoring Their Lives||Query|
Hi Amanda, while working on some family history I came across the memorial for Sheila Ann Kempher noted in River Ridge Cemetery in Ionio County. The message you left under her headstone image states that she was your Grandmother ~ is that correct? There is another person buried in that same cemetery who I am related to ~ Lydia Kempher who I believe to be Sheila's mother!! I don't know much about the family itself and this was a very recent discovery so would love to talk with you to see if you know anything more about the family tree. I have requested to have Lydia's memorial transferred to me so her story can be written and she be linked to her parents but I have not heard from the gentleman who created it. Lydia was one of the several siblings born to my GGG-Grandfather, David Bernat Jones (see the memorial that I created for him). I can follow Lydia and her parents and siblings for many years in the census records and the occasion marriage record but there are plenty of gaps in the information to fill in. By looking at David Jones's memorial you will see the names of his parents and the other siblings who have been researched and linked to together. It would be wonderful to share information with you on this family! Warmly, Helen
