Robert B. Miner
I recently found out that something interesting about Robert B. Miner husband of Wilma Harstein Miner. That his born name is Wheeler. And then as I was looking him up on FindAGrave, I saw the person that listed him (You) with the name Wheeler. Do you have any relation to him?

Charles is my great-grandfather.
He was born in 1873 in Niles, Michigan based on the Michigan Death Index.
You have it as 1872.

I am also searching for information for the Weaver lineage from Niles, Michigan & Germany.

Maybe we can exchange information & help each other fill in the blanks. :)

My family is related to Mary Alice Ryan Corcoran. Her sister, Anna Ryan Gorman was my 2nd great grandmother. Nice to meet you, thanks for the info on Winifred Alice Corcoran Wheeler family. Did you know Winifred was a family name from Ireland? Winifred's grandmother and great grandmother were both Winifred. Our side used the name a few times, also! Nancy Wheeler

RE: Wheeler family in Ohio
Hi.. I have been very busy reworking the websites to combine them and I have totally forgotten what we were up to with the Wheeler family. Please refresh my memory. I am making another trip to Illinois at the end of the week. Mom will be turning 98 years old this month. (God willing).
Take care.

Alice Jane Wheeler and Albert E. Wheeler

Could you tell me if Alice and Albert's parents are Edward John Wheeler and Mary A. Wheeler (Davis)? My Great grandfather is Charles Henry Wheeler a son of Edward John (sometimes Edward is left off the record). I am attempting to document the Wheeler names in my tree. Any light you can shed will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,

Gerald Gillmore

Too Funny! Just get it to me whenever... it isn't going anywhere!
Enjoy your evening - and watch the weather - from her on thru the weekend it looks like there might be moisture!

Nichols error

I changed the year per her obit. Since the obit states she was born "Near Niles" and lived in Niles her whole life, that is the place that was chosen as birthplace. Do you have an exact town?

Let me know if there are any more corrections to be made.

Jennie Hartsell memorial
Thank you for the "explanation" email. Now it all makes sense. Yes, another contributor also wrote, so I figured I would let the dust settle and "someone" would get the record straight. Thank you - and I linked Jennie to her husband Clyde, and deleted "Georgia" as requested. Have a great weekend.

Nisley is my family on my mothers side.

Marcus Harold Nisley - 1896 to 1899 is the son of Henry Paul Nisley and Mary Ellen (Crall) Nisley

Unsure if she went by "Ellen"

Any transfers would be appreciated!

Here is the information I got from my grandma (Helen Fedore (Vogelsang)'s mom) and from visiting Sumnerville Cemetery last weekend.

Guy Vogelsang is the 4 year old son of Frank & Jennie (not Roy). Guy died of a gunshot wound, but my grandma wasn't exactly sure of the circumstances. It is believed this led to the divorce of Frank and Jennie. Guy & Frank are buried next to each other in Sumnerville.

After Jennie left and remarried Ross Hand, she left her children with Frank as well. Jennie's mother, Georgia Hartsell (Braymer) raised Frank & Jennie's daughter Helen, and Frank raised the other two boys.

I wasn't able to locate the marker for Jennie & Ross Hand, but I wanted to check with the Pokagon Township office to see if they have a map of the Sumnerville Cemetary.

You were just posting that last message to me as I was posting to you. Thanks for finding that! I was just at Sumnerville Cemetery on Easter and found the Hartsell stones. I didn't look for any of the Hand ones. I'm wondering how/if I can get a map of Sumnerville Celemtary that would show the plot #'s?

Thanks so much for that information! It really helped. My great-grandma was Helen Vogelsang (Fedore) and my grandma is Joan (Fedore) Vandenburg. Since you live in Niles I am sure you know her. My grandpa, Gerald, passed away last November. I've been working on my grandma's side and she told me that Jennie left the family and Helen & the other kids were raised by Jennie's mom, I believe. Again, thanks so much for filling me in with what you have. You can also e-mail me at (NOT gmail) and we can talk and share more.
