Thank you so much for the awesome photos and the quick response. I had been given a photo of the urns but the photographer was totally reflected in the glass. You managed it beautifully. Thank you very much!

Thanks for looking for the markers in Santa Cruz. Too bad there wasn't one. I believe you would have seen it if it were there. I do appreciate your time and effort. Sincerely, Crashlan

Mary Anne Donovan
Hello. I see that you have created an entry for this person at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salinas, CA.

I suspect Mary was the wife of Daniel Donovan, and requested a photo; however, I received the following message from the volunteer who kindly went out to the cemetery:

I walked the entire cemetery and could not find this gravestone. Possibly you could write to the cemetery board and ask for a plot location and a map. Then you could update your photo request.

By chance, do you have the plot location available to you?

Many thanks for your time and attention to this message.

Charles Trafton, Cypress Lawn, Colma, California
He is in the mass interment at Laurel Mound, and has no individual marker.
A Mysterious death
Between eight and nine o'clock last evening, Oharles B. Trafton was taken suddenly ill while riding in car No. 7 of tho North Beach and Mission Railroad Company, up Broadway street. At the corner of Broadway and Powell atreets, two gentlemen in the car took charge of the man, who commenced frothing at the mouth, he was removed from the ear and taken into a drug store near by, and a physician summoned. Officer Hudson, who was in the vicinity, was also called upon, and ascertained that Trafton resided at No. 921 Pacific street, with some relatives, whom he went for. At first it was supposed that the young man had taken poison, and a stomach pump was applied by tho physician. By the time the relatives arrived, tho man was dead. It is stated that he died from heart disease. Deceased has been a packer in a shoe factory on Market street, and was about 38 years of age.

RE: Plot information
Thank you. I wish there was online grave-locator database for Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Many cemeteries become uncooperative after multiple requests for information from the same person. Some of the really big ones, especially if owned by multi-state cemetery corporations, absolutely refuse to help unless one is looking for a relative's grave.

You sent me an email stating: Oops! You made a duplicate memorial of Find A Grave Memorial# 178078987.
Perhaps the memorial manager will enter your info in the bio if you ask.
Just trying to help!
I thank you for your diligence, however, I haven't yet decided what I will do. A memorial with that name did not exisst when I created mine. Perhaps they used the last name Pauline and changed it to Henn after receiving the information from you.

I am very careful not to create duplicates, checking both before and after making a new memorial. I don't say that it never happens but...

Regards, Patricia

Thank you very much, also for telling me about John Steinbeck and his wifes graves.

A little about Karen: She was married to Johan Johansen Greisberg in Nordborg in 1874. They had a son the same year, Frederik Greisberg. When he was one year old, Karen choked´ her mother, telling her, she would go to Valparaiso in Chile, to look after her husbond, who was a kaptain on board LIZZY. When Karen arrived, the ship had been wrecked. All men drowned.
Karen and her little boy went back to Nordborg. In 1884 she married Jørgen, they had a boy in 1883, Johan Grau. In 1885 Jørgen went to California, and Karen followed the year after in 1886 now with the two boys, Frederik Greisberg and Johan Grau. In 1887 Karen and Jørgen had twins, Jeppe Grau and Christine Anita Grau. The family here in Holm, Nordborg also had a girl in 1887. In many years they wrote a lot of letters. When Karen died in 1946, it has stopped.
There is one more person, named Jeppe Grau. He was a son of Christen and Kirstine. He went together whit Jørgen in 1886. He died in 1891. Jeppe C Grau, grave: 103623514.

I have found a few more informations in Californien, not very much.

Thank you again,
venlig hilsen
Ingrid Petersen

Hello over there!

It is about 4-5 years since I found Jørgen og Karens graves in Californien.
Grave: 103618557 and grave: 103618432.
Jørgens brother, Christen Jepsen Grau and Karens sister, Kirstine Johansen Hellesøe were my tip-oldeforældre.
There daugther, Kirsten Jepsen Grau, was my grand-grandmother and her child was my grandfather.

I live in Denmark, and I have studied my ancestors several years.
Do you have any relations to Jørgen J Grau and Karen Grau??

Venlig hilsen
Ingrid Petersen,

Thank you!!
Interesting to note that Bernard was in the U.S. Coast Guard not the Merchant Marine as in the OBIT. I will need to check to make sure there is a difference!

Thank You Becky for your perseverance to go get a Photo of this interment for Vertha Victoria (Swain) Dodge. I know this is tricky work inside a Mausooleum.

I apologize. I get so involved in ancestry research I forget to check the findagrave edit button. I am on the site every day adding or looking at memorials and tell myself to remember to check and then forget. I will update the edits today.

Edna Maher
Hi Becky,

I proposed some edits to Edna Maher (Memorial# 111807121). Believe the birthdate on the memorial may have been transposed. It should be 1892. Edits offered through that feature on the memorial.
