Frank Stevenson
I have a family tree on Ancestry which led me to find out more about my brother.I found out the places he lived and tried to write him, but it was too late I found his wifes family and they had picturesof Delilah (Gracie) . I went to see his Mother after my Fathers death and she gave me pictures of my Dad but nothing of Frank she told me he lived in Chicago and was married to a women with three sons. I was an only child of my mother and him, he was married once before her. I would have loved to had a brother to talk with .My tree is the Johnston family tree .I have 5 daughter's and one son. Well this is a very long note so will close .God bless

Russ Nixon
RE: Bertha J. Roman
I didn't see a Bernace Thomas, but there are many, many unreadable stones in that cemetery (50 or so)that have weathered to the point that they are now blank slabs. Even when cleaned, they are completely smooth and no longer have markings.

There are also four stacks of stray/misplaced stones toward the back of the cemetery that I haven't gone through yet. (They were frozen together and to the ground when I photographed the cemetery).

As soon as things thaw out I'll go back and photograph anything readable from the stacks. I'll also be going through with a transcript and photographing the unreadable stones and putting a name with them. That way, even if the stone is unreadable, you'll know what it looks like and where it's located.

I also have a copy of Bertha Romans obit here, scanned from the March 13, 1986 edition of The People's Friend newspaper. If you have the shorter obit from the Covington, Republican, I'd gladly send you a copy of the more verbose one, unless that's the one you already have.

Thanks for the information. I had no idea. What is wrong with people that vandalize cemeteries?

Hi! Yes, Frances sometimes went by her middle name, Isadore. Is that possibly the name on the stone? Thanks for your help.

William A Strawser
Sorry...I see now he's listed as W A Strawser. And most if not all the Strawsers in Atherton Cemetery are related.

William H and Helena were husband and wife. Wm A was their son, Margaret M their daughter. Some other Strawsers listed in Atherton were also their children.

Strawsers - they go on and on! LOL

Arthur G. Strawser
FYI - Arthur was the son of William A and Anna J Strawser (my grandparents), also buried in Atherton Cemetery. John L. Strawser was another son. Maybe you could link them.
