RE: Richardson Cemetery
Karen, the cemetery is grown up with briars, bushes and fallen trees. It is on private property and I obtained permission to enter, may wait until foliage is off in late fall to return. Also there's danger of snakes. If I get back hopefully we might get pics of more of your relatives.

Ruth and Alfred Perkins
Hi Karen, I took the pictures of Ruth and Alfred Perkins today. The headstones are very hard to read since they are engraved on white marble with no darkening at all. I took about 10 photos each and even ended up trying to wet them down. But the stone is very porous and the wetting just made them worse. Anyway, if people will click on the photos to enlarge them, they will be much easier to read. LC

RE: Racster grave at Organ, NM
Professor Willis;

I am truly sorry that I caused a problem in the matter of photographing the Racster gravestone. You are correct in suggesting that I should read the findagrave rules or procedures before pursuing or posting a photo. You say this is the third time your claim has been jumped, and I suggest that is because of poorly presented instructions to photographers. I hardly believe photographers are a group of people intentionally seeking to offend others.

In the first place, I completely underestimated the variety of interests in this community. I could not have dreamed that anyone else would be answering a far off request for a photo of a local grave. When I opened the findagrave email requesting the photo, I just punched the coordinates into my GPS and headed for Organ.

The Coordinates were incorrect and no cemetery was found at that location. After searching on foot and in my vehicle, I finally approached some local residents for information. They graciously offered to take me to the cemetery. When I located the Racster grave I was saddened to see dead weeds and grass almost completely obscuring this veteran's headstone. I cleared away the debris, took several photos and returned to my home.

When I tried to post a photo, I was surprised to see your "claim" and to see that the fulfill button was grayed. It was then that I reread the instructions and became aware of the claiming procedure.

You did everything right. I was totally wrong. I am sorry that happened. I hope you will not abandon your volunteer efforts on behalf of findagrave. And I hope the website will be clarified so future photographers, new to the project, will clearly understand the requested procedures before someone again blunders into jumping your claim.

Donald Perkins at ANC
Hi, I received a notification that you had left a public message for me, but it's not there -- so I thought I should check with you, in case your message was inadvertently deleted.
I see that the duplication for Donald Perkins has been removed, and I hope that you've been able to connect with John Anderson to ask for the transfer of the original memorial, should you want to maintain it.
Please let me know if there was anything else in your message that you still need to convey to me.
Thank you!

After the office told me Virginia wasn't buried at Mount Calvary, i decided to look at and sure enough there was an obit that said she was buried there. I just called them and they did find her listed as Virginia Becker Perkins. They gave me her location. i will go back and get the picture for you. You don't need to put in another request. I'll jsut add it.

Sorry for the error!
