RE: Samuel A Newman
I wanted to let you know I am looking for connections for Samuel.I am related to the Wolfe Clan of The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. These are the Indians that did not comply with the "Trail of Tears" forced migration.Records are difficult to find, but I will let you know what I find.

Samuel A Newman
Where did you get his photo? I was wondering if you added the bio underneath, or if it was already there. I feel like he could be Cherokee Indian if he was on the Trail of Tears. My ancestors were Cherokee and he could be a relative.

RE: Ulysses Young
I agree that Chapman and Ulysses were most likely related. I have not been able to find anything on Chapman. I went to Houston County and the folks there are not very helpful. I felt like they did not pesty researchers. Anyway, I have hit the pause button in my research because I just do not have the time lately. I am still watching and looking hoping some records will come forth.

The cropped headstone is great. I rotated your photo and posted so that you could see what I had in mind. I'll delete when you see...I don't want to take credit for your photo. Thanks...

Eve,

The only other note I found said it was on the Old Fayette Rd. His widow is buried at Coke's Chapel UMC, Lower Fayetteville Rd., Sharpsburg.

Thanks,

Eve,

I'm so sorry, but I live out of state and have never been. I just wanted to put the info out there since I had a hard time tracking it down. I was hoping it would save someone else a lot of time.

Regards,
Meredith

Are you certain this is the same Patience Young that I have listed? Her husband's name was not Septimus.

Thanks for the information and any further help you can give!

Hugs,

Also, Eve make sure when you make your photos, to get the entire marker, not just the wording. A photo showing all the way to the edges, makes for a very pleasing photo.

Good luck with your gravin'

No problem. I had just sent a message to Dianne Wood asking if she had made photos of all the markers. I was going to save myself a trip.

Make sure you go back into the photo requests and mark them as fulfilled.

Joan R (Prien) Gedeon
RE: Don M. Grimes
That is amazing. From what I read in his obituary, he was quite an accomplished man and very blessed by the Lord with his talents and family.

I am a very distant shirttail relative of his. My great-great-grandmother on my mother's side was a Kennedy. At some point along the line one of her children or grandchildren married a Grimes (I'm trying to do this from memory, but I should look it up!). Anyway, that is how I traced him down.

If you would, just remember me to his family. They don't know me and I don't know them, however, we are related.

God Bless and thank you in advance for taking the headstone photo!
