Thank you for trying. Hillcrest is horrible....My father is buried there and since 2007 I have requested they re-level his tombstone due to the ground settling several times even personally showed the staff needless to say In 2017 it still has not been fixed. We paid for perpetual care and they are not giving it. I have never been told such as they told you about "laws" Sorry for their rude behavor. Again Thank you

You are awesome!

I am working on finding the funeral home that handled their arrangements and maybe I can get more information.

Thank you so much!!!

RE: Talerico/ Hillcrest Cemetery
I have found out that info if you are still interested in photographing my great uncles's grave, John Talarico and the last name is sometimes spelled Talerico. It seems like they used those 2 spellings interchangeably.

Garden of the Bible area
Lot 143C

His wife Elsie is also buried there.

Sorry it took me so long. Life issues got in the way.

If you need more information, please let me know.

Thank you again.

RE: Hillcrest
Should you have any success with Hillcrest, I have an open request for over a year. I guess now I know why no one has accepted the request. If you should, please check for Robert Otis Hillyer.

Capt Reed
Thanks for visiting Capt Allen B. Reed's memorial. I want to commend you for your philosophy about this site, "A word of advice: if you are not willing to actually maintain the memorials you create, then please transfer them to a member who is truly dedicated to the cause. This should not be a "numbers game". People use Find A Grave to learn about their history and most of us take it seriously. Thanks." I so agree, that's is quality not quantity of what one maintains. Hope this finds your health getting better.

Wow! You went to a LOT of trouble. Whoever you spoke to definitely doesn't understand HIPPA laws. Unfortunately, Senn is not my relative. I was researching him for my work. I guess he will just have to remain unphotographed. Thanks for your help and dedication to "the cause."

RE: Wilson/ Hillcrest Cemetery
William Walton Wilson is my uncle and he is at the front. Now what is confusing is that Hillcrest is on the right and the left. So coming from Easley he is on the right. AS you right into the cementary you then turn right again and he is on the right. Just a little ways down. now right at the street but in the middle. I have a picture after the flowers were placed but the marker was not there yet. Wow, I appreciate all you did and it is ok if you can't get the picture. Thank you so much for all you did and do for Find a Grave.

RE: Hillcrest
That's why I began my volunteer photo career by personally visiting all of the larger cemeteries in my area and introducing myself and my purpose to the facility manager. Sometime still run into a disgruntled employee. Personal visits work a lot better for me than telephone calls.

I have also ran into that problem with a large cemetery. Turned out they just did not want to be bothered, after I ask who owned them, I would call their corporate office for clarification. I would believe Hillcrest is corporate owned, as most of the perpetual cemeteries in South Carolina are.

Thank you for the photo!! I got my book out to take to work to scan the map and you got the photo without it :) I appreciate it very much. Still going to work on trying to get more plot information on some of the pre-1996 entries so it will help you wonderful photographers get this cemetery done....even with all the "challenges" we have discussed :) You are a gem - thanks again!

RE: Elder Rufus Swett
I typically make the memorial first and post a headstone photo later if I have one, so I use the dates on the person's death certificate first and will make a notation if there are discrepancies between the dates on birth or death records and the dates on the headstone. For whatever reason I neglected to do so on his memorial, so thanks for pointing that out to me. I have changed the dates to relect what is on the headstone for his birth date because of the variations between records and what is on his NC death certificate and the NC Death Index for his death date (since that seems to be the correct date). I have also noted the dates as they are given on his World War I draft card and his death records.

thank you,

Gypsy Soul, thanks very much for trying to fill the photo request at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pickens, SC. I agree with you that HIPPA has nothing to do with cemetery plots and unfortunately the person you contacted was ill informed. However, your help is much appreciated.
I don't know the plot number, of course, and can't expect you to search the entire cemetery to find the grave. When I left the request, I didn't pay attention to how large the cemetery actually is! Thanks for you very helpful message. I will call and see if I can get the plot number.
