|Betsy Richards Marsee||Nancy Mnu Cheek|
I am looking for the Thompson Settlement Cemetery, specifically Nancy Mnu Cheeks grave. She died before this cemetery was started. There has to be another one or a farm or something. Any idea anyone? She married into the Gilberts. James started Mulberry Gap Baptist Church, and there were several locations of Thompson Settlement Church before its current location.

|Viola Holden Jones||McDaniel Cemetery|
I am interested in the McDaniel Cemetery and wonder about the "Cut unmarked stones".
I have a Rev.War Vet, John McDaniel who was living in Rhea CO TN and moved to Hancock CO where he died. He had a son James McDaniel who was living in Hancock CO that was executor of John's estate.
I am assuming that John and his wife Margaret,moved to Hancock when John was aged 95. He died there shortly after 1840. I have been trying to find his grave and help will be greatly appreciated.

|Tabitha Epperson||RE: Pope Cemetery|
Phil, I realized some of those were already under the Pope cemetery after I added them. The ones I added were from the George Pope (aka the Old George Pope) cemetery which I couldn't find listed on here. There's the Euel or Ewell Pope cemetery and a George Pope cemetery. Two completely different cemeteries. But yes, some of them are duplicates, just listed on two different cemeteries. I haven't been to the Euel Pope cemetery in years, since we buried my great grandmother there actually. So I know the ones I added were not from there.
By the way, thanks for adding so many memorials with pictures. You have actually added a few that I was looking for before.

|Mary Phillips||Samuel Marion # 155743653|
I am a gr gr granddaughter of Samuel and gathering our family information gathered with as much accuracy as possible. Living in TX prevents doing much research in VA!
There appear to be two memorials for him or perhaps the cemetery name has changed.
The other memorial is 69862589. Can you clarify for me.
Thanks and thank you for all the time you so generously give in helping with this project.

I just sent an edit for this guy. I have in my possession a deed handed down in the family between him and his father (also Edward King), that names the son as Edward Sanders King. Edward Sanders King was my 4-great uncle.

I just wanted to extend a very sincere thanks for all the recent memorial and photography work you've done in Lee County, Virginia (especially at old Robert Clark Cemetery). A huge chunk of my paternal line originated there, and because of your work, I've gotten the chance to see headstones for my 4th-great-grandparents (Robert and Rebecca Harris Clark) as well as a LOT of extended family. I'm a volunteer myself (nearly 1,000 miles away), and I hope what I provide on this site makes others as pleased as what you've provided has made me. Again, I thank you!

p.s. I also have Spurlock roots (my 5th-great-grandparents were Jesse and Jane Herrin Spurlock buried in Breathitt Co., KY), so we're probably very distant cousins.

|Dannette Fee||Dorothy Fee posting|
Hello Mr. Cheek,
I am the grand-daughter of Dorothy Fee. Of course I never got the opportunity to meet her, as she was murdered when my father was only 3.
I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to post her photo, newspaper clipping & picture of her gravestone. I never knew what actually happened to her exactly, just bits & pieces. My Dad did tell me what little bit he was told, which wasn't much.
I am SO VERY grateful that you helped answer a few questions that have haunted me for many years.If you happen to know or have any additional information to share, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
I am searching for my fathers father as well, so the more I know, I assume the better my chances will be.
Once again, thank you a million!

|Julie Grabill Rasmussen||Grabeel (John) Cemetery, Rt 690 Doc Hurst Rd, Caylor, Lee Co., VA|
Do you have any background information on this cemetery, such as how long it has been in existence and/or who might be buried there, who owned the land that it is on? Specifically, I am looking for the cemetery where my 4th great grandmother was buried. She was married to Jacob Grabeel and buried in a cemetery near Jonesville, about 1828. Thanks so much for all you have done!

I just wanted to thank you for this photo! This is my grandfather, I never got a chance to know him, he passed way before I was born. Would you by chance have any information on his family? I have tons on my grandmother, but none for him. My mother is passed now, but she couldn't tell me much about him, other than his name.
