May I use the gravemarker photo's that you have contributed to William Leach and Nelson Carte, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration

John Grady and John Grady
Dear JAN;
you mistakenly placed a photo on John Richard Grady (106640336). Wondering if you could move it to John F. Grady (155567176).

RE: Fred Rabe
You are 1000% correct. I am working with two Anna Rabe's and got them confused when I sent in the change request. Fred Rabe, #114337757, is the son of August Rabe, #111822071, and Anna Rabe, #111822026. The other Anna Rabe is the wife of Fred's brother, Herman.
Thank you so much for catching this error and bringing it to my attention.
Have a great week, Paul Hodel

I think you are right about it being Kane County. In 1940, the family is living in Elgin, Kane, Illinois, and I'm sure it was the same home as when Joan was born. I guess the only thing is whether she was born in an Elgin hospital or not. Since their home was in Kane County, I think that's the one we should choose. Thanks for your help. By the way, I have her obituary. Would you consider putting it on her memorial page if I send it? We could always leave out the living relatives if you're not comfortable including them--or I could rewrite a bio from the obit info.

RE: William Gussman
William's birthplace is listed as Elgin, Illinois on his death certificate (BC Archives). It could very well be that he was born in Kane County - I had no idea that there are two places named Elgin in Illinois.

Debbie B
RE: Eliza MacArthur
Hi, Jan,
I just don't know. I assume, as is often the case, that the M stood for her maiden name, Moore. Whatever you think is best. Thanks for making the edits for this and any others at that cemetery. Are you related?

Zack Lofton
RE: Joseph and Stella McMahon
Hi! Thank you very much for the excellent photos! Great portraits of them! Joseph was one of 12 children. His older sibling born in 1895, and his youngest in 1919. I know the youngest, and she is the only one living of the 12. I didn't have his son Michael's death date, but I just made his memorial. I knew he was deceased, but didn't have a death date. I didn't put a request, because I figured you'd post his photo soon, especially after this message. Wonder what happened to him? So sad. Thanks again for the great photos!

Charlotte Buerk (110378039)
you left a message that the name was spelled with an S rather than a C. On review of photos (both yours and mine) I'm sure it is spelled Charlotte. Makes me think that you might have meant a different memorial somewhere.
