Thank you so much for transcribing Hanna Cemetery and photographing the stones, particularly the Hanna family. Ellen Churchill Hannah is my 1st cousin 3x removed - her mother Margaret McVety Churchill was younger sister of my 2-gt-grandpa. I only knew of Ellen's first 4 children, so the rest are a real bonus, particularly as I live in Ontario and would never get to a small town in Alberta.

Thank you, again, for the transfers. I already have their dates, places, and all of them linked to their parents. Now all I have to do is write the details. A few of them were married, and I know where one of the married ones lived, but I'm going to have to track the other two or so.

|Sylvia Hertel||Katharine (Hertel) Rall|
Thank you for the transfer of Katharine's memorial, and for the compliment.
I do try to represent everyone as they were, which sometimes means doing a lot of research outside of the names, dates and places. My whole thing is telling stories, bringing people to life again. I think that's what memorials should do.
Many of Katharine's kids didn't have much of a life, as far as I've been able to tell, but in doing some concentrated research, I might find more than immediately meets the eye.
I just can't get over the outstanding photos you got of the kids' headstones. Again, thank you.

|Alison||RE: E Robarts|
The Alberta Genealogical Society has Edward Gabel Robarts buried 27 Oct 1934 aged 65y 9m
E 0271 0001
They have an E Robarts also in M P buried JUL/31/1935 but no plot #. Perhaps they transcribed an old version of the city cemetery list.
I am hoping to get to the cemetery tomorrow so will take a look and if possible a photo for you.
There are many many errors in the Edmonton Cemeteries list, names dates but most of the time the plot # is right, though sometimes they give 2 different plot #s for the same person!
Hope this helps

Would you please add the following to Norm's Memorial
MORTON, Norman Alexander
November 27, 1934 – December 4, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norm Morton at the age of 79 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was an active community member and enjoyed ball, hockey, and curling throughout the years. He was proud to be a lifetime member of the Strathmore Lions Club. He is survived by Maureen Kaechele and her family; Noreen (Lorne) Rankine; Florence Morton; grandchildren Jess and Nick Rankine, Justin Ruppe (Cara), Kyle Ruppe, and Kim Ruppe (Trent); great grand daughter Olive Ruppe. He was loved and treasured by all. He was predeceased by his son Wade Morton; daughter Laurie Ruppe; parents Albert and Mary Morton; brothers Louis and Tom Morton; and his sister Marion Hall. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hope Community Covenant Church (Strathmore) at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Strathmore Lions Club (Box 2171, Strathmore, AB, T1P 1K2). My pleasure re the photos.
You might want to check out the other footstone I found in the Stephen family plot at Redvers. I put in a memorial page for an unnamed Stephen who appears to maybe be a second wife of Alexander's. If you have more info about this "stepmother" by all means let me know.
