Hello,
I went to the cemetery last weekend in attempt to fulfill your request however, the office was extremely busy and I was unable to get in. If you call them and get the exact grave/plot number and location I will be able to easily fulfill your request. Please add the info. to the memorial, along with any other individuals within the same cemetery you'd like pics of and I'd be happy to go back. :)

RE: Harms
Yes. My HARMS, SCHMIDT EWERT and KLAASSEN came as a group in three ships in 1874 and 1878. My were on the main ship the NEDERLAND in Nov 1874 and all went to the Grace Hill (Gnadenburg) Community east of Newton, Kansas.

Ours did not get that close, but they did marry cousins. I have found a lot of relatives in Fresno County. There is a Mennonite Genealogy Program out of California, called Grandma; you might check to see if there is a Lutheran German type program in that area.

That is why our family went to Russia, because of Catherine the Great. Do you know if they were Mennonites and where they settled?

RE: Harms
Our HARMS family came from the Michalin Mennnonite Church, Michalin, Russia and before that Prussia. The names you have are not familiar. I have it back to the 1600's but nothing that is actually from Germany.

The front of the stone says Beebe on it. A.L information is on the right side of the stone & Eliza is on the left side of stone. I put the pictures of her side of the stone on her memorial page. Glad I was able to help!!

Jenette:

You are very welcome. Frank and Annie are both buried in the Thomson burial plot. The other persons buried in the plot were Thomson's. Are they related to you?

My pleasure. The cemetery is about 6 miles away from me, so even with gas what it is these days, it was just impossible to ignore your request! Kind of an overcast day, but if we get some good light that really brings out the inscription I'll stop back. Take care!

Jenette,

Since you liked the tree so much, I added another picture from further away that captures the nice evergreen. It's really one of the nicest spots in the cemetery. Hope you enjoy it.

Not me
I didn't make up the acronym, the users of the forum did and there have been a FEW complaints and of course a few desiring some change in the name. lol

Finding a cemetery
Sometimes local cemeteries that aren't being covered by others are difficult. I spoke to a lady working for a Spokane cemetery who told me that when they open in the morning, local FAGers are waiting at the door. That is a good situation. But, in most areas, there are small country cemeteries that are not being done, that need cleaning up, etc., now that is an interesting situation, finding a new cemetery. I have done that via the internet; I have 'created' three cemeteries, two of which I used an enumeration that someone had done 10 years ago and simply created and then placed all of the occupants in the new cemetery; on the third one, a researcher that I communicate with took photos of the cemetery, told me who was there and I created that one for him, he would rather just take photos and enumerate than go through the process of uploading information to Find A Grave.

Actually, I am photographing the entire cemetery, I just hadn't reached their location yet. The cemetery has about 16,000 interments and I have done about 2,500 so far. Hope I live long enough to complete the job.

Westcots
When you went south on Reed Avenue past the cemetery, they were in the first section after Olson Avenue about three rows back. You were very close.
