RE: Request for Permission, Andrew Drum
It is my pleasure to permit you to use the photos of the grave marker. After I read the article, I made a special trip to Arlington for those. I am glad to see them bring attention to the man who made Arlington beautiful.

The photograph and text from the newspaper are no issue either. There are no copyright issues for articles that old. So, feel free to add those as well.

Glad to see you are keeping the history of the 16th OVI alive. Keep up the good work!

RE: Request for Permission
Hi, That Find A Grave # came up with Robert E. Brown, 80th OVI, but that is no problem. a friend an I have worked for a couple of years to find and document any and every Civil War soldier in Lyon County. I think we are still missing a few. You may use anything posted by me and probably EPD/Anonymous, too. I'm sure he will give you carte blanche, too. Thank you for doing this work, too. When I started, there were only about 80 that the big cemetery had documented, and we have nearly 400 found now in this cemetery alone. I think we've found two or three CSA soldiers! The bulk seem to have come from OH, IN, MA, but OH in particular. Happy hunting! Becky

William Ogle-16th OVI
Dear Sir:

The majority of the grave markers at Waterloo Cemetery in Indiana have been photographed. There is a good chance that no stone exists, or that what is there is illegible. I will do some further investigating and see if I can confirm a burial location and find a marker. If there is not one but can confirm site, perhaps we would have a project in securing such.

Elias Barnes Photo Request
Hi Michael,
I was unable to locate a 'Elias Franklin Barnes" burial at Spring Grove on www.springgrove.org. But there is a "Frank Barnes" with a different DOD (May 8, 1865) who is buried in the Soliders section. His interment record says his remains were removed from the Camp Dennison cemetery and reburied at Spring Grove in Section 21 Lot C76. Also lists him as member of " Co. K, 196 Ohio Inf." Could this be the Elias Franklin Barnes that you are looking for?
Thanks,
Jenny E.

Hi Micheal,

Did you ever get a picture of Andrew Evarts grave? Things have slowed down at work so maybe I can take time to visit with the people in the office to see if they can help me find him.

Mike,

You can use any veteran grave memorial photo that I posted. Thank you for all your work. Veterans should always be remembered, not just on Veterans' Day and Memorial Day.

RE: Pvt. William McCormick
Hi Mike,

I found the information on the internet Wayne County has a site listing all of the veterans and where they are interred.
It states that William is in section 9 lot 38 vault. We have photographed the entire cemetery and did not find a marker for him, but there is a vault there, I thought that it was a receiving vault, but maybe it is where he is.
It is interesting, when I was searching for William, we also took a picture of a William McCormick with the same dates buried in Sugarcreek - Greenlawn Cemetery.

I search the cemetery registry today for this soldier and he was unlisted. If you have any additional information to help me locate him I would be happy to photograph his headstone for you sometime this week or next.

Yes, you certainly have my permission to use the above mentioned photo. I checked out your web site, it's really quite something!! Obviously you put in a great deal of work.
Thanks very much for asking. Too many people just steal photos and use them as their own.
