Minnie Lee Ashcraft-Phelps Ashcraft
Minnie Lee Ashcraft-Phelps Ashcraft (1889 - 1961)*
This is in ERROR, also. You have her listed as a half sister and the daughter od an Ashcraft.
She is the daughter of Nannie Bell HUNTER Stewart and Alfred T STRWART. This can be proven by marriage records as follows:
*** Arkansas, County Marriages Index, 1837-1957, FHL Film Number:982754
Name: Minnie Lee Stewart, Gender: Female, Age:19, Birth Year: about 1885, Residence: Rowell, Cleveland, Arkansas, Spouse's Name: Henry Phelp, Spouse's Gender: Male, Spouse's Age: 21, Spouse's Residence: Calmer, Cleveland, Arkansas, Marriage Date: 18 Dec 1904, Marriage License Date: 16 Dec 1904, Marriage County: Cleveland, Event Type: Marriage

*** Arkansas, County Marriages Index, 1837-1957, FHL Film Number:982756
Name: Minnie Phelps, Gender: Female, Age: 30, Birth Year: about 1889, Residence: Rowell, Cleveland, Arkansas, Spouse's Name: W C Ashcraft, Spouse's Gender: Male, Spouse's Age: 37, Spouse's Residence: Herbine, Cleveland, Arkansas, Marriage Date: 10 Dec 1919, Marriage County: Cleveland, Event Type: Marriage

You can also check the census records which will verify this.

Nannie Bell West Hunter Stewart-Roberts
Nannie Hunter was NEVER married to a WEST. She was born Nannie Bell Hunter, daughter of John Hunter and Mary Elizabeth Corker. Marriages are as follows: Arkansas, County Marriages Index, 1837-1957
A T Stewart on Oct 6, 1881 she is listed as Nannie HUNTER
John T Roberts on Dec 21, 1902, she is listed as N B Stewart
*** Arkansas Death Index, 1914-1950
Name: Nannie B Roberts
*** U.S., Find A Grave Index, 1600s-Current
Nannie Bell Hunter Roberts
Nannie Bell West Hunter Stewart-Roberts
There are TWO Memorials. The first one is correct BUT the second one is in error.
There is not a marker and there is NOTHING that states she was ever a WEST.

RE: Spears
Hi Linda,

I have two responses for you.

Jessie (Jones) Shelley is memorial #101548021, I have just requested to either link her to Hazel and Debs or let me have the memorial.

I haven't found the Susan Spears in our line. My aunt, Virginia Spears McGowan was born in Star City Arkansas, I believe, and died in St Louis MO, but her mother, Hattie Belle Ratterree Spears, was the first wife of her father Henry Washington Spears, My mom was the youngest half sister, Sheila Spears Hanson, of Henry's second wife, Sallie Gertrude Ferguson Spears.

There may be other Spears sisters, brothers or cousin's I don;t have the history on, possibly another line altogether. Hope that helps.

RE: Victor Davis
The stone to the right of Victor Davis's is Vivian Davis Pierce. There is a photo of her stone under her name Pierce. I hope she is the one you are looking for.

Tellis Rushing
Thank you for telling me that Tellis retired. I would enjoy hearing from him if he was with my husband in Vietnam or Fort Rucker (or maybe another fort) in 1969-71.

Charles Newman
I have documents that show Charles was shot by his first wife's male friend the day after Charles caught him under the bed. He divorced this wife and remarried. I think the story about stealing chickens was told to cover the wound he suffered. If you want a copy of the records send me your email address. First wife was Elizabeth Sarah Cook, who he married in Pine Bluff, Ar on June11, 1865. The mans name was Radford. They divorced on Feb 28, 1872. He married Ms Reynolds on March 3, 1872.

I called the office again and had them chech bit they don't have a list. I will go back on a nice day and walk the lines. The side, the paper said she was burried is a lot smaller than the section across the street, so I'll give it a try:)

Now to find the picture again. It's been a few years since I've seen it. Did we determine that he was the right Tellis Rushing; Vietnam '69-'71?

Lee Cemetery Jefferson County Arkansas
My source did not mention dates or parentage. According to the 1920 and 1930 US Census, there was a James and Viola/Leola Rushing in the area who were of child bearing age. Debra
