Richards family at Fernwood
Actually, it looks like the other more legible monuments already have photos. If you want, I can send you photos of these illegible stones. If you can make anything out on them, I'll post them up where they belong.

Richards Family at Fernwood
Hello Linda,

I photographed this lot yesterday, along with a group of volunteers who went out for Find-A-Grave Community Day. That was originally scheduled for last week, but rained out due to the remnants of the hurricane.

Basically, our organizer grouped requests by section and each volunteer took a few sections and went on the hunt. The office is closed on Sundays, so I have no further information other than what is in the pictures.

If you look at the wide shot of the entire lot, there is a Richards footstone at the foot of the lot.

Behind and to the right of the footstone is John T. and Paulina.

The next row back has Frank and Flora Richards, died 1943 and 1946, respectively. Then at right is a Frank Richards, died 1895, then George and Violet Richards together on one monument.

The next row back has that small orange looking stone at left. That was toppled over, so I stood it back up, but it is illegible. There is nothing left to read on it. At right is an Ida H. (Lane) Richards, and an Ida M. Richards on one monument, and to the right of them are two little monuments with angled tops that are almost illegible, but if I had prior knowledge of what they might say, I could possibly tell who's who.

In the last row, at left, is Rebecca Richards, Enoch Richards and an illegible stone. To the right of them is Walter W. and Ellen M. Richards.

That is all I know about the lot, and I am still in the process of uploading pictures from the back rows so check in soon to see better pictures of those.

Best Regards,
~Tim G.

RE: Graves stone Photos
Hi Linda,
No, I don't have a book of residents at Centerville Memorial Park. I just walked the cemetery and if a memorial didn't have a tombstone photo, I took one; and if a memorial hadn't yet been created, I added the memorial and took a photo. There are some tombstones that are so old they are virtually impossible to read.
Continued luck in your genealogy research.
Margot

RE: Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery
I'll start adding the photos tonight but it may take a while so I will continue tomorrow if I don't finish tonight. It's a shame that this beautiful church burned to the ground.

Am wondering, by chance, since you are the designated person for this headstone, if you would happen to have information on her. She is in my family tree of EARL. Thanks. Linda

RE: Mary Adelaine Archer Redd Pruden
Linda,

The on-line cemetery registry indicateed that Mary Adelaine Archer Pruden was the third wife of Mills Edward Pruden so that's where I got the information for the memorial:

MARY ADELAINE ARCHER PRUDEN
03-13-1838
01-14-1924
W/O MILLS EDWARD PRUDEN (3RD WIFE)
LOT 108 & 109

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vaschs/BETHCEM.TXT

Here is where the on-line information was obtained:

"THE NAMES WERE TAKEN MOSTLY FROM THE STONES AND THE LIST KEPT BY
THE CHURCH, OTHER INFORMATION WAS ADDED BY FRIENDS THAT HAVE
INFORMATION ON THE FAMILIES, AND COURTHOUSE RECORDS.
IF MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE OR IF YOU HAVE INFORMATION YOU CAN ADD
ABOUT THE PEOPLE BURIED HERE, PLEASE ADDRESS ALL SUGGESTIONS,
COMMENTS AND DATA TO ME.

FRANKLIN, VA. 23851 - 2872

After you review the info above please let me know if you still want a change to be made and/or transfer if you are related.

Thanks!

RE: John W Pruden

You are welcome. It was a pleasure to photograph John Pruden's headstone. But foremost it is a privilege to pay homage to ancestors who served and died for their beliefs.
