tombstone picture
on the tombstone of Elizabeth Medd Roberts, Find A Grave Memorial# 25638621 you were able to highlight the stones information. Please explain how you did that without cleaning or otherwise defacing the stone.
Thank you

Vaubel Photos of Headstones
Hi Connie,
I tried to contact you but am thinking you must not have gotten my email. I would like your permission to use your headstone on my Vaubel relatives on my tree. I always try to give a photo credit and will do so. Please let me know. Some of these are my direct relatives, ie great grandparents . Thanks so much for all of the wonderful photos you have added to my memorials.

RE: Carl Detrick
Thanks. I absolutely understand. We're in Connecticut and we've already had our first blast of winter. Some people still don't have power back on after 12 days. We lost ours but hurray got it back after five days! No heat, no lights, no power at all and 6" of heavy wet snow breaking huge branches and downing trees, all before Halloween. So I understand. Do what you can and I will from here as well. No rush. Patience is the middle name for genealogists, right? Thanks again ! I really do appreciate the extra efforts you put into helping like this!

RE: Carl Detrick
I know, I have been backtracking some of the information and this is pretty interesting. It appears that George Carl has a lot of the information that applies to Carl Curtis, but George Carl married Gladys in 1915 while Carl Curtis married Lola in 1919 and it was not a second marriage - somehow Gladys was attached to Carl Curtis's file. This obviously is going to take some time. Is there any way you can check to see if there is a separate grave site for Carl Curtis? If you find anything, let me know, and thanks for your interest in pointing this out. Just another genealogy mystery to solve! Thanks again Connie!

Dickson Johnson
Hi Connie,
Thank you for adding the grave stone photos for the Johnson family. I was unaware of the large family maker, it was nice to see it. I hope one day we can visit the grave site of Dickson Johnson, the g-g-g-grand father of my husband.

Bordwell family
I am so thankful for Find A Grave volunteers like you. I'm sure the Charles Bordwell you mention would be a sibling to the other children. In the 1900 census their mother says she is the mother of 14 with only 6 living (how sad). I've only been able to account for 11 children, so Charles has to be another one. I've added him to the cemetery. You mention that the stone is worn. I hate to ask, but if you could get dates from the stone, that would be wonderful. The Bordwells are so far down in my family tree that it shouldn't matter, but they have such a sad story. Thanks again!

RE: Betty Ruth Herbold
I've met so many people on Find a grave that I have found I have some type of connection with... it makes me realize sometimes it is a small world. Holly was a big help to me also. Thanks again for the great picture and the offer to help with others...I greatly appreciate it and will definitely keep you in mind. Have a great day! Cindy

Thank you so much for the great photo.I was curious if you are from the same Spicher family as Shirley Spicher in Waterloo? Shirley was a big help to me when I was researching the McNeal Family. Shirley's Mother was a McNeal,& so was my Grandmother (Betty Ruth's Mother.) So Shirley, I & Betty Ruth have a family connection. Thanks again for getting the photo. It is a nice clear photo & very legible. I appreciate your time. -Cindy

RE: Bordwell
Thanks a bunch. The shaving cream trick works really well, but the Find A Grave people really frown on it. My theory is, if we don't get a photo now, what will there be to read in another 100 years?

Thank you so much for the photos of the Bordwell's. I'm not able to read most of it, but I know how challenging those old stones can be.

Mohr stones photos
Connie, please know how much you are appreciated. Your claim of my request for photos was answered with such good, clear prints, and so soon after my request. Findagrave program is fortunate to have volunteers who go out of their way to assist family members who are unable to visit the gravesite. Thank you. Billye S
