|Jeanean Rogers Beamer DAR Member||RE: 2nd wife of John W. Krieger|
Hi, Good to hear from you.
The name Gobel, my mother believes, is her maiden name.
As for their marriage, my mother also had it to be 18 Oct 1899 in Herrington, Dickinson, KS. I have not proven that out. I do know for fact that John W Krieger's first wife, Katherine Ritter, died in Lehigh, Marion Co, KS in 1898 and is buried in the Lehigh Cemetery(Katherine Kreiger). The Meng's were also in Lehigh. It would make sense to me that is where they married instead of Herrington but would need research (date of approximately 18 Oct 1899). John W was in Herrington a lot. In fact, he lived there, in the house my granddad built, when he died in 1930. (buried in Hobart Rose Cem).
If you have the convenience of visiting KS and checking, that would be of help. We are in CA so it is not convenient for me. I have not found anything relating to the marriage or burial (of Meng) on line.
Maria Catherine is buried next to John W in the Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Kiowa, OK. I have the picture of her stone if you are interested. That is where I am from so can help you with any of that. Maria Catherine and John W lived east of Hobart in an area called Komalty (closer to Gotebo).
Let me know what you find if anything new.

|Jennie||RE: Henry Wild|
I apologize for the delay in getting back with you. I'm so happy to hear the familial connection with your husband because I am also a direct descendant!
Henry has been very difficult to research. So far, I have speculative information that he may have been enrolled in the 2nd Brigade of North Carolina Militia, detached from the Haywood 8th Reg't., 16th Co. under Capt. Joseph Hughey during the War of 1812.
From there, I've been trying to determine if land grants were promised to those who served in North Carolina for the states of Kentucky (and Missouri after 1821) but am drawing blanks. This would be one reason why he uprooted the family and migrated west.
Frankly, I can't imagine the fortitude and the pioneering spirit he must have had to venture from what I believe would be my "comfort zone" knowing full well the infrastructure was either nonexistent or fledgling.
I hope this answers your question. If I happen to find any tidbits about the "Wild" family, I will definitely contact you.
(Henry's daughter, Mary (Wild) Thomson is my 3G grandmother. Which of Henry's children is your husband descended?)

I was wondering if you are related to the McCully's because of the pictures you are posting. My husbands mother was a McCully and is a descendent from John McHawthorn McCully and Elizabeth Goff. Findagrave does a nice job of following the lineage through the ages.

Hello , got information on Nellie Wade she is buried in the old Pickerel Cemetery located in Winigan, Sullivan County Missouri . Memorial number is 90115945, created by David Long. He said here that he got it from the old records from this cemetery. He might be the person to get information there. Hope this helps you. Pat Morris

Hi, I will go back and find and search my records. I didn't get to look at cemetery records because there were no records that I could find. My friend ask me to help find the Worley Cemetery because no one could find it. It was in the timber very over grown not many gravestones except a few. We do not know know how many and who else are buried there. Give me sometime to get my records looked over and I will get back with you. Pat Morris.

I updated Claude's birth location based on the info you sent in your email. The original data was there when I "inherited" most of Calvary Cemetery from the woman who created most of the memorials.

Request permission to post the group picture of the Jacob G & Lovisa (Ferrel) McCully picture to WikiTree.com, or at least cropped to just them. I attempted to print the picture as a 5x7 but it did not enlarge well. Thanks. Roy Lockhart firstname.lastname@example.org
