Ray Gurganus
RE: photo for James Anderson
I was able to get a little more clarify out of it, and posted the photo. At least it looks better than the original photo. Thanks.

photo for James Anderson
Can you send me the photo you took? Sometimes I have good luck with using an image editor to to change the brightness and contrast to help it be more legible. Thanks.

Matilda Jane Smith Thomas
Thank you again for transferring John, her husband. Would you be kind enough to transfer her also? I am most grateful.

Gratefully,

John Martin Thomas
In reference to John Martin Thomas, 1839-1916, buried Zion Methodist, Pickens County, am I correct that you are not related to him? I am only guessing because you do not have him as a Confederate soldier? Are you maybe related to his wife, Matilda Jane Smith?
I am their GG-Grandaughter and wondered if we are both descendants. If so, please contact through my email, ftrandalludc@Gmail.com. I would love to know the connection.
If you are not related, would you kindly consider transferring their memorials to me? I would be most grateful.
Many thanks,
Dolores M. Pringle, another Greenville native who grew up in Pickens County.

Please upload your photo(s) to either one of the entries (the preneed 40971607 or the one created after death 105424012) - Find A Grave's rules about preneeds have changed in recent years and they will determine which of these entries will remain as the "original" - either way, the photos will be retained in the merge. I'll send in today for an Admin to look at these and determine how they will handle the merge.

Thanks for your time and effort to fulfill the photo request.

RE: Caroline Seibels Statham
Didn't find an email address for you on your page so I'm posting here. Have no idea who the Lesley children are. Caroline was captured in Yalobusha Co for the 1860 census (in July), and also in the Hinds one you mention, along with her mother (in June), if C.S. Staton is indeed Caroline, which it probably is. I don't know of any daughters or sisters of Caroline who might have been the mother of the Lesley children. In 1870, Caroline and her mother and a younger sister, Eliza, were living in Clayton Co, GA; there's a James Lesley, age 12, born in MS, also living in that county, with Henry W. and Martha J. Johnson who may be the same person as J. Lesley, age 2, from the earlier census. You can contact me at filberuthieATyahoo.com if you'd like, though I don't know any more than the above.

Jerry Slatton memorial
Thanks for noting that I had this in the wrong county, I have contacted that manager and asked for transfer, or alternately, to put my information on her memorial before I delete mine.

My THEORY is that Charles Young Slatton is a descendan (poss son) of Larkin Slatton of Greenville, see this:

Mary M.E.Smith
I notice there is no cemetery name. My great-grandfather is Marcus D.G. Smith and I saw on Joshua Owens Smith memorial that they both joined Enon Baptist Church and it shows that he is buried in the church cemetery I would assume she would be buried there also. As far as I know she did not remarry.
I have been trying to locate some type of obituary on her in the Greenville News but I can't seem to find one.

RE: Preston Hayes
I have a Prest L. Hayes (# 95124317) in the Sardis cemetery. Is this the one you're referring to? I have added all I know about him to his memorial, which isn't a lot but it gives more than birth and death dates. - Bobbie

Lee Family of Anderson County, SC
Hi Smith-Adkins,

I note you manage William Franklin Lee (1844-1923)'s grave. I would love to ask you some questions about the Lee family.

Do you know where Laura Lee Spence is buried?

Are you aware of a death certificate for William F. Lee or an obit?

Thanks,
Margaret

I had a hard time finding her, her grave marker was hidden behind a pretty tall one. I was lucky to find it for you.
