|dmundy||Hannah Freeman Wall|
There is no name at the cemetery where Hannah is buried. Big Dam Cemetery is listed on Hannah's death certificate. I see on the Find A Grave website that it is possibly known as Long Family Cemetery.
Directions to the cemetery:
Go East from Andrews on S.C. Highway 41, past the Black River bridge. Turn south on Pea House Landing Road and travel approximately one mile until you cross a small creek. Turn left just past the creek on a small dirt drive or path (looks like a driveway for the first house after crossing the creek). The cemetery is a few hundred feet to the East of Pea House Landing Road.
The cemetery is small and very well kept. There are not very many graves in the cemetery, maybe 10 or 11. Hannah's grave sits on a slope off to the side, there are no other graves close to hers.
I was so interested in finding Hannah that I don't remember the other names in the cemetery. I am going back later this week to take an older family member to see the marker, I can take pictures for you and if one of the neighbors is at home I will ask the cemetery name.
Also, Hannah's sister Martha Freeman Wall is buried at Bethany Cemetery aka Old Bethany Cemetery in Hemingway SC. Martha and Hannah were sisters that married brothers.

|limitedsunshine||RE: Thomas K. Smith|
Sorry. It was a typo. Its Williamsburg County. Located South East of Sumpter. Thomas' twin is one of my ancestors. Joseph's death certificate shows they were born in Williamsburg.

Lee O. T. Blakely aka Leo Grady Blakely's correct name is Lee O'Grady Thomas Blakely.
also, Thomas E Blakely's (1868-1926) correct name is Thomas Evander Blakely and his son's name is Thomas E'Leon Blakely.(1911-1973).
Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing with us.

|Jean Graham||Esther Boyd Washburn Bauer|
I found a small vintage (tinted) photo of a woman with the name "Esther Boyd Washburn Bauer" handwritten on the back. The woman in the image appears to be in her twenties. The photo was found inside an old book. I would like to have it returned to a family member.
Please advise. Thank you. Jean G.

|Donald W Flickinger||RE: William Barnes|
It's a shame that cemeteries allow areas to be grown up and don't respect the fact that someone is there. This is not an uncommon thing. Unfortunately, for whatever reason the deceased's relatives didn't provide a marker. Also, it is very difficult to find the records for a lot of these cemeteries as they were kept by individuals whose heirs destroyed them or didn't return them to the proper people who managed the cemetery. Some people just don't care.

|Courtney Whitney||Walker Family Cemetery In Sampit|
Per our last correspondence I have located this cemetery. The GPS location is listed on the James Walker Find-A-Grave memorial page:
The address of the cemetery is: 105 Sparrow Drive, Georgetown (Sampit), SC 29440. I went there today and took some pictures but I am unable to upload them for some reason. I will post them as soon as I work the problem. There are many corrections that need to be made as a result of seeing the headstones. Too many to talk about in this correspondence. I only found the following four Walker headstones/graves:
Mary Walker, James Walker, Peter Walker and Margaret Walker.
I suspect that the others are there but that the headstones are buried as there are "sunken" areas close to these four gravesites. Given the location and that the gravesites are about 200 years old it is hard to believe that they are still in place. They are my 3G grandparents and I feel fortunate to have found their final resting place.

|gail mccutcheon||J.J. AND MINNIE WRIGHT|
Roger, Minnie Barrineau Wright was my granddaddy Barrineaus half sister. I am trying to figure this family out but it is mind boggling. I have minnie and her husband down pat but their children are driving me crazy. I understand that one of thier daughters was killed by a husband/boyfriend. So many different names......I missed the two of you at reunion this year. Any info or pictures would be of great help.

|Courtney Whitney||Walker Family Cemetary|
I believe that the Walker family cemetery is located off SC road #42 (Pennyroyal Road) and SC road #498 (Woodland Avenue). Map #46 showing this area in the Georgetown County Tombstone Inscription Book (1980) is missing from the book. Sampit Elementary School is located at the intersection of these two roads. I drove to Georgetown/Sampit on a whim in September and I did locate a cemetery there by inquiring with the locals. I found an 86 year old man that has lived in Sampit his entire life and he took me to a cemetery that he thought was the correct one. He did mention that he remembered the name Walker being on some of the tombstones in this particular cemetery. The cemetery was located on Woodland Avenue about a 1/4 to a 1/2 mile down on the left after you turn on to Woodland from Pennyroyal. The cemetery was off the road about 300-400 yards back up in the woods with a dirt road leading to it. Unfortunately I was unable to explore the area as it was summertime and I was not equipped for this type of venture. I am sorry for the longwinded email but the Walker side of my family is a big mystery and if there is anyone out there that can lend insight in regards to this graveyard it would be greatly appreciated. FYI, I may attempt another trip to the area in January/February to further investigate. Thanks.

|Courtney Whitney||Mary Guerry Walker - Proof of Parentage|
Mary Walker is my G-G-G Grandmother. She had a daughter, Nannette Walker, not listed on this F-A-G posting. I need proof of parentage that James Walker and Mary Guerry Walker are Nannette Shaw (Walker)parents. On the posting it states that "Maiden name and birth date are from family records". Does whoever posted this know where these records can be found? Any assistance is appreciated as this is the only parentage link missing on my application to the SC Huguenot Society. Thanks.
