Mistaken link to our family
Hi Rod,
We may be distant cousins? Anyways I see where you have my aunt, Helene Alfredia Larson Aanerud (Memorial # 99081781) as being the child of a Ludvig E. Larson (# 44921839) born in 1883 and died 1966. That is not my grandfather.

Grandpa Ludwig C. Larsen (# 123475258) died in 1973, and is not buried where Ludvig E. Larson is listed, but instead lies beside his life-long sweetheart, Sarah, at Frog Lake Cemetery, Rural Alberta, MN.

Also, my father is listed as a half brother on Helene's page and vice versa. Probably because they are linked to different fathers. Is it possible for you to correct the mistake by unlinking from Ludvig E. Larson, who is no relation to us?

Thank you! Vicki Larsen Rinkenberger
Granddaughter of Ludwig and Sarah Larsen

RE: Nancy Jane McCarty Bauguess
Hello Ron, I'm sorry to be so late in answering your inquiry but, I've had alot of problems with my computer, crashes, viruses etc., here is about all I can tell you. The earliest ancestors on the Bauguess, Boggess, Boggus, side (however it is spelled(many spellings), is ; Henry Bauguess b. 1/26/1649 d. 1697 probably in VA. He married Katherine Dodson b. 1650 d. 1697 in VA or NC. My 4th Greatgrandparents are; John Higgins b. 1740 in VA d.1846 in NC or VA and Frances Bauguss b. 1773 and died 1846 in VA or NC. Both sets of these folks produced many offspring and most of them are still in NC, VA, TN and KY. We more than likely are related, Ron. Glad to meet you, Cousin(?)!! If and when I learn more, will be happy to tell you. CJNeedham

Beula Hoffsommer Horton
Wanted to let you know there is a duplicate memorial out there in findagrave bor Beulah, married to the same person (Everett Horton) so you may want to try and combine them. Do you know if Beulah was also married to Leo Vincent Mahaffey ? Was her middle initial "R" for Rosmund ? Thank you for your help, Carol

RE: Hi
I do not know if his wife is buried next to him. There was no stone for her. Remember that this cemetery is now overgrown and in the woods. The church building is no longer there.

RE: Hi
Sorry I sent before my email was complete.
Why did you believe Mr. Jolls was buried in the Salem Church you have information on? That church is about 20 miles from where we found his tombstone. The church no longer stands where he is buried and the cemetery is now overgrown in the woods.
I have no connection to Mr. Jolls. We found his tombstone while looking for our ancestors.

Zada Showerman (136606993)

I've added her parents as requested. But the information about her children and alternate names and spellings have been added to her bio. Check it out and let me know if you have any other requests. I might have found her daughter, Roxanna Pamela Knapp Richards on findagrave but I am not sure if it is her. Her death certificate on Seeking Michigan only names father as "Knapp" and doesn't name her mother. 😖 She married Alex C Richard (or Richards). Perhaps you can determine if she is the correct Roxanna. Link below. Hope this helps.

Diana Halladay
Halladay Geneology
I have determined, I believe, that Stephen J. Halladay and Lydia Victoria Wilson Halladay were my 3rd great grandparents, through their youngest son Benjamin Franklin Halladay (b. 1852-1853 Indiana, d. 29 Jan 1937, Newberg, Yamhill County, OR). I was wondering if there are any other descendants on here looking for connections?

Thank you! --Diana Halladay

That will be fine to link the two.

RE: Albert W Jolls
If u have confirmed that she is physically located
in Blackstone then she is not at Salem. If she is confirmed not at Blackstone then she is very likely at Salem. I have several Featherstons that are very likely at Salem but I have not been able to find direct evidence. They were on the membership rolls found at Library of Va. My great grandmother has a marked tombstone and there are several graves that were all marked at the same time with a stone with an engraved cross.

His was the only stone in that section. It is possible she is there but has no stone.

Bryan Station Cemetery
I saw that you created the memorials for Bryan Station Cemetery. I was wondering if there are actually stones there to photograph, or if it's all under brush, etc?

There should be a photo of the cemetery on the memorial of each person that is buried at Highland Methodist. Not a whole lot left to see unfortunately! I will see if I can't do some rubbings and maybe find Rachel for you.

I tried to take a photo of this stone for someone else who made a photo request. However, I can't find a stone. The cemetery is lovingly mowed by a neighboring farmer, but tombstones are broken and have been carefully placed in piles, or are unreadable. Will try again.

Also---I suggested an edit to her place of death. More than likely, her place of death would not have been Nemaha. It would more likely have been Auburn. There is a town of Nemaha in Nemaha County, but the Highland area where Rachel lived and was buried is actually in rural Auburn. Sometimes it has even been referred to as Glenrock, as it sits in the Glenrock Precinct.

Highland was once a thriving little community, with two churches (Highland Methodist and Highland Baptist) and a school (Highland School). The Methodist church was moved about a half mile to the east and is now a farm outbuilding. The Baptist Church was razed. The school building was still standing up until about 20 years ago when it was also torn down.

I have relatives in Highland Baptist and my husband and I take turns with a gentleman from Omaha to mow and weed whack it 3-4 times a year.

Better instructions
Hi again Rod,

Here are better instructions to steer you to the right place....

When you click on the edit tab, there is a choice (second one down in the list) called:

Relationship (parent and spouse links)

That is the one you want to pick. You can insert the memorial numbers for parents and spouses.

The choices look like this... You will want to click on the second one down in the list when you have that screen up ....

Actions you can take with this memorial:
Suggest a correction or an addition:
•Birth/death date, birth/death place
•Relationship (parent and spouse links)
•Plot or GPS
•Marker transcription
•Suggest any other correction or addition

If it is still as clear as mud, let me know and I will see if I can do even a better job of explaining. :)

Grover edit requests
Hello Rod,

I received all of your edit requests for the Grover family.

Do you know how to submit edits by using the edit tab in the upper right hand corner of every memorial?

When you use the edit tab to submit edits it makes it effortless for the receiver to process your requests.

When you do not use the edit tab, it causes the receiver to have to manually go to each and every memorial you are asking edits for, then manually enter in each edit.

In this case, you sent relationship requests.

All you needed to do was select the EDIT tab in the upper right hand corner of the memorial (I think you already know how to do that since you sent me a text edit request, so I am unsure why you didn't submit the edit properly).

You need to select this option:
Relationship (parent and spouse links)

Then enter your data.

I will go ahead and manually enter all of these requests you sent (Justis Grover, Harry Grover,
David Grover), but it really makes it time consuming considering how many memorials I am working on, and it is time I do not have to waste.

If you need help understanding how you should be submitting edits, please let me know and I can provide you better instructions.
