RE: Sophia Cary
Hi Ruth, I made a notation that the stone was inscribed incorrectly. Do you have a correct birth date for her? Regards, Nadeen

Gloria Kidder
Margaret Edwards
Please note: I added her picture at the original posting of her memorial. However, someone argued with me that she was not buried in the Old Garvin Cememtery, Scioto Co., Ohio.
They had her picture removed by Findagrave????
Anyway it disappeared, and I have again, added her tombstone which is indeed in the "Old Garvin Cemetery. I am also posting a picture of where it is located.

RE: Hello
Ms. Ruth, Mom still is unable to sit long enough to do much genealogy work. I have to apologize for not getting back with you sooner, Mom asked me to, I forgot. I'm trying to keep up with her memorials. She says to tell you, yes she may have photos stashed away. She will get to them in a couple of months. Mom is fine except for her pelvic bone, it is taking longer to heal than thought, because she is a diabetic. Again, I'm sorry for not answering sooner. Thanks for understanding, Logan Richards

Judi Pantano
Ida Sutton in Alamosa City Cemeteyr
Hi Ruth -
I added a photo for Ida and after it saved, I noticed that the photo I added was for the wrong Ida Sutton. I deleted it, but you will need to make your photo request again as I don't have a photo of Ida Howard Sutton (or if I do, it's not labeled.)
I really apologize - I should have looked at the dates before I added it.
Have a good night!

RE: Margaret Edwards
I went and looked through the entire Old Garvin Cemetery and still could not find a marker for her. Most of the stones were completely wore down to hardly nothing. I might be able to find out who takes care of that cemetery and see if they have records of where she is buried. I am so sorry that I could not find it. If I can do anything else let me know.

RE: Margaret Edwards
You are welcome. I will be going and looking for her headstone again however because I looked in the wrong cemetary. She is in what is called the Old Garvin Cemetary not the one that I am familiar with. I have lived here all my life and had never heard of it. Anyway, I will probably go again today and see if I can find it.

RE: Dora and Cora Griffin
I will be going back to Oak Grove Cem soon and will try to remember to take a second look at marker. There is also a chance that it could have been engraved incorrectly too, seen that several times before. This has been and is a hard cemetery to work on in the fact that there are so many really hard to read markers. I generally photograph all markers and see which ones I can't read or match to in Find A Grave. This cem has had lots of markers that are mossed over and several that are unreadable.
I'll see what I can do...

RE: Dora and Cora Griffin
Is there any chance that Cora might have been named Zora? I posted in my notes that way, was getting tired and may have rushed the interpretation of the name.

Pine Ridge Cemetery
This cemetery is basically abandoned. As one of the oldest cemeteries in Bay County it has been adopted by a group called the Friends of Pine Ridge. As far as I know there are no records remaining of the burials and locations. I am unable to walk the entire cemetery to locate graves. You might contact the Friends of Pine Ridge Here's a page on the cemetery
The transcription online only gives the name and what's on the tombstone not the location.

RE: Margaret Beatman Edwards
Ruth, I have Margaret in the correct cemetery. Garvin Cemetery is between two towns, that is why it is not listed under either town; the township instead. My dates are correct according to burial records, funeral home records and newspaper notice. Gloria has made an error somehow. That is not like her. My memorial was added first; so according to Find-a-Grave rules it stays. Even more so since I have resources backing up my dates and other information. Thanks for letting me know. I will contact Gloria and see what we can come up with. I wonder why she added another memorial? She is suppose to check before duplicating a memorial. Oh, well we have all made errors at one time or another. Have a super day and God Bless. Mary #46590027

Any relationship? See memorial 359477094

RE: Frederick Price

Frederick Price's gravestone is on the East side of the cemetery. Those graves are on the wetter side and are in the poorly maintained section. The headstone is very difficult to read, and I enhanced it as much as I could.

As for the person who created the memorial, I just check with who it was (Bev) and unforunately she has passed away (according to Obviously she will not be able to trnsfer the memorial to you.

You need to contact one of the administrators (see the FAQ section) and explain that Bev a passed away and you would like the memorial transferred to you. Because of her passing, I am sure they will transfer it to you.

Ruth, Amanda's grave stone has CHESTERTON, not Chesterson (that was an error by census taker) for surname. I'm so glad you are like me; I want you to point out any gaps or errors in my information. That is the only way to make the memorials as truthful as possible. I'm only human and I do make mistakes. Thanks once again for all your assistance. Mary R.

Ruth, Amanda (nickname "Mandy") is on Find-A-Grave also, memorial #103444310. I've asked for a transfer, that was just a couple days ago. Sadly, I don't have a tree on Ancestry. Some day when I figure it out, I will be able to upload my information. Right now I have too much information and family members to upload. I have to figure out a way to break up the family. Thanks again for your help in updating info on our(?)ancestors. Mary R.

Ruth, I have Oscar in the family files and know he is buried at Belmont. I also know of Amanda (she was born in Ohio in 1851) and she is buried at Sheldon Cemetery. Are you aware that John Chesterton (Amanda's father) died on April 21, 1894 and is buried in Grant County, Indiana. Mary Jane and John were married on December 12, 1850. Jesse B. Moore (Mary Jane Beal's second husband) is my third great grandfather. We will be holding our 125th Moore-Hanes Reunion this year. The reunion began in 1888 to celebrate Jesse's 84th birthday and has continued every year since. Thanks for updating me. You never know what I have on record and you are right I do not have ownership of all memorials to connect them. I appreciate your help. If I have information you may need just ask. That is what I enjoy about hunting ancestors the most sharing of facts with others within the family. God Bless, Mary R.

Ruth, thank you so much for finding Anna's memorial. I have linked her to Forman Moore and have requested a transfer of her memorial (from the owner) so I may link her to her parents and add a bio. Bless you for coming to my aid.
