Please remove the photo you have posted on the memorial, as you clearly do not own the photo but took it from another source. If not I will have to send in an edit to the admin. I would rather give you a chance first.

I also require proof of any edits as I have had bad information sent to me. Just send me a link to any documented proof.

Thank you for understanding.

I missed some messages abt this man (and others) awhile back on March 10th.

I have now connected Memorial# 155522869 to his parents and wife, but I don't yet see a tombstone at either location.

Did you call both cemeteries ?

RE: Violet Elizabeth Forsythe
I agree--2 separate women; but dates so close. If I remember right, she was married to Millard Fillmore Forsythe. Thanks for the 'eagle' eye, though.

Violet Elizabeth Forsythe
I tried yoru email and it was returned...so here is a copy of what I sent:
Hi Bob,

They could possibly be one and the same.

I entered her off of the New Providence Cemetery records which show she is buried in the Old Part on the Forsythe Lot. But, the dates are as follows: born July 7, 1814 and died August 11, 1892. w/o M.F. The initials could be transposed. What do you think? On Violet’s lot in the cemetery book is a notation “Also two more graves – no data; one – 31 years”. This information comes from a canvass of the cemetery done in 1985. This tells me there is a stone for this Violet Elizabeth Forsythe. I assume Violet's information came from a tombstone, since they made the notation of 2 more graves with a piece of the stone stating 31 yrs.

What do you think?

Vicki
Madison Park Cemetery
Hi Bob,

In 2001 LDS Ancestral File showed Stephen Jones buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. Originally someone I corresponded with told me that Woodlawn Cemetery had become a park.

A friend who researches a different family had gone to Quincy and was going find the physical location of Woodlawn Cemetery for me. He told me that Woodlawn had become Woodland Cemetery. That is why I had listed his memorial for Woodland Cemetery.

This is the first time I have heard of Madison Park. You are saying that Woodlawn became Madison Park?

Yesterday I had removed Stephen from Woodland Cemetery, and since there was no Woodlawn, I added that Cemetery.

If Woodlawn is Madison Park, I will move Stephen again.

Following is information I had found in Mormon Historical Studies: The Early Quincy Cemetery and Mormon Burials by Maurine Ward: "Jones, Stephen; 50/100, Quincy, died of pleurisy, Lot 11, Pottersfield, 27 Jan 1842." and "These cemetery records show that there were three distinct sections in the burial ground. The first is identified simply by lot number and north or south. The second area is called "Pottersfield," probably used for indigent burials. The third section is called "Strangers Ground.""

I thank you so much for your help in sorting this out. Are you related to Stephen Jones?
