Randolphs in McCauley Cemetery
Hi, Vicky -
I don't know how close you are to McCauley Cemetery, but I am trying to verify the burial of the eldest son of James Jackson Randolph and his wife, Rachel Burks Randolph. All of their children are accounted for on their Find a Grave site, with the exception of their eldest son, my husband's grandfather: (my info states that he is buried at McCauley Cemetery)
Thomas Vaden Randolph
b. 10 Nov 1861 Henderson, Rusk Co., TX
d. 30 Mar 1949 Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX

If you by chance find yourself at McCauley in the future, would you be able to verify if Thomas is in fact buried there?

Grateful for any help,

RE: W. Faulkenberry
I have worked it some, however most of the graves were marked with stones with no inscription. The county mows the cemeteries in the county and when they started evidently did not know those stones were marking graves and pilled them around the edge of the cemetery, therefore it is hard to find a grave.

I was able to add mother and father for Elroy but I don't "own" the memorial for Leroy so was unable to make that change.

Thank you for the picture of Houston Goldsmith. If you happen to be in McCaulley Cemetery June Moss has a rock headstone but no writing on it it is just South of the Goldsmith Grave. The Rock is like the George ilman Barnes Grave which is east of the Goldsmith and June Moss Grave. Thank you for your assistance. Hannah

John T & Carrie Holden ~ Colony C of C
Vickie ...

The two memorials are posted; and I transfered them over to your management. The full frame shots of the mortuary markers didn't turn out very well ... the text is just too faint to have enough contrast to be legible. So ... I didn't bother to post them. If you want them anyway, just make photo requests; and I'll post them. BTW ... the marker for Carrie has a dod 1928; but her death certificate says January of 1929. The date on the marker is probably a year off because of a 'beginning of the year' error.

I added some details, the source for which is U S Census (1910 & 1920) ... plus DC's from Minnie, John & Carrie.

Carrie Holden ~ Colony C of C
Vickie ...

I see the exchange you had with volunteer, Kristy Wade, regarding Lydia Carrie Holden posted to your respective walls.

I went to Colony today to get photos; and I have claimed your request for Minnie Holden. She lies at rest between two OLD mortuary markers. One looks like it has gone through a lawnmower; but I can just barely make out ___arrie Holden, 1906 ... 1928. I made a photo of it; but the yext is so faint it might not show up.

The other mortuary marker (on the opposite side of Minnie) is in better shape ... John Theordore Holden ... looks like 1-21-1879 - 5-9-1958.

Please post to Kristy's wall that photos are claimed ... maybe save her a trip; and, if you want the photos from Carrie and John posted to memorials, just make a request which I will calim.

I know that there are several old graves that are very hard to read in this cemetery. I will try to go out there soon and see what I can find.
