|Jayhawk||Mary Brown - Lawrence, KS|
Hello. I found Mary Brown using the cemetery's online database and map. There appears to be no other Browns in that plot. If you find other family (Browns in other sections or family with different names in her same section), I will be more than happy to fulfill other memorial photo requests in Lawrence.

In Uriah's 2nd wife Sarah's obit., it calls him Uriah, also...
After an illness of only a few days, Mrs. Sallie Ann Armstrong, widow of Uriah Armstrong, died at her home in Perry Township Thursday at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Armstrong who was known by all of her friends as "Aunt Sallie" was 76 years of age last Sunday and though she has suffered from dropsy for some time prior to her edath, she had been able to be up and about the house. the death was due to heart trouble. Mrs. Armstrong, who was the second wife of Uriah Armstrong, is survived by five children, Mrs. Harley Jackson of Seymour, was the only daughter. The following are the sons; Grant, Bradley, Kern and Curtis, all residing in this county. She was born in the vicinity of Fayetteville and had resided in the county all of her life. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the church at Springville. Burial at family cemetery.

Uriah appears on his death certif. in 1905.

I saw your note to Treva abut the nickname Ari for Uriah. Did you get your answer? If not, Ari comes from the 'History of Lawrence, Orange and Washington Counties,....1884'. He was also referred to that in his obit. Hope this helps.

|Wallflower||RE: Russell Whitehouse|
I guess the short answer to that is that Russell Jr. is my 4th cousin. I am related through his mother, Marion Lucille Attebery.
The long story is, I was helping a distant cousin do research on the Dollke family for a book he was writing. There were four siblings who came from Germany in the 1800's, and he was following the lines of all of them. Russell is related to the sister, Henrietta Dollke. She married a man named Wagner, and their daughter Paulina married John Franklin Attebery. I am descended from one of Henrietta's siblings, John Fredrick Dollke.
If you are interested in having any of the memorials I manage transferred to you, I would be happy to do it, as my relationship is distant. I requested most of the Attebery memorials when their administrator passed away, and they needed some maintenance.

Thank you for the marker photos for John and Alice Sedros! I am really glad to see in your bio that you will be photographing the Happy Camp Cemetery, I have some other relatives buried there - some I know they are there and some I am guessing as they are not on any lists. I think Happy Camp has quite some history, I know some of my family members have stories they could tell!

|Paul Hays||RE: Homer Lee Ewing Jr|
Interesting question. We may be related but it's a long shot. According to the 1900 census your Drucilla was born in 1829, and she and her parents were all born in Virginia. Actually it says Drucilla was born in West Virginia, but we all know that West Virginia didn't exist in 1829. I'd guess she was born in the portion of Virginia that broke off and formed WV at the outbreak of the Civil War. Do you know who her parents were?
My Hays line hits a very stubborn stone wall with my 4th- & 5th-great grandfathers. The elder was born around 1740, location unknown. The younger was born about 1767, probably in South Carolina. His son, my 3d-great grandfather, was born about 1804 in SC. All three migrated together, first to middle Tennessee in the 'teens, and by the mid-1820's were in Monroe County, Mississippi. That's where my 2d great grandfather was born 8 May 1827.
While all that would seem to rule out a connection to your Drucilla, there's more, and it might involve a Virginia/West Virginia connection. If you're interested, drop me a direct line. The email address is on my Find A Grave profile.

That would be great. I'm not sure if I have a connection to the other Sargents there yet... but the possibility is extremely likely, so if you could get those as well, that would be great! Thanks so much!
