RE: Goold/Montross/Secord families
That little cemetery in Jeddo is one of my favorites that I've visited. Very tiny and inactive. We almost missed the entrance. I had directions but it's not marked at all and is only an opening in a heavily treed area - drove by it twice before we found it! Peter Hartwick is my husband's Gr, Gr, Gr, Grandfather. The Hartwicks eventually married a Chadwick, who then eventually married a Secord. The Montross/Goold families mentioned by you in your first e-mail are one set of my husband's Gr, Gr, Grandparents on his dad's side. Are you related to any of them?

RE: Goold/Montross/Secord families
Hi Barbara - thanks so much for contacting me! I also live in the area and have hit most of the cemeteries in Macomb County-my mother's ancestors all settled in the area and I have been able to find many of their graves. The Goold/Montross/Secord names are all on my husband's side. I will certainly keep you in mind as I look further into these families. Thanks again!

Message I left abt genealogy
Hi, Barb-thank you for kind message-I got some of it from a poem I found abt what we do for ancestry and graving! We surely are the keepers of their stories-some of our kids dont appreciate it yet...hopefully some day they will want to remember! And put it in records...Have a great day~

Thanks for taking the photo of her grave. I was wondering if it would be possible to either get a close up of the marker that is more readible, or an attempt at a transcription of what the tombstone might be saying, especially as it relates to the dates or any ages cited?

I'm sure having a time getting these messages through to you with the adds popping up.
You are so kind to offer that about the Cooley's. They are from my husband's tree and I'm working on one of my tree's right now.
Thank you so much for your message. I will keep that in mind when I get back to the Cooley's. There are so many of them.

Procter Cemetery in Macomb Co
Hi Barbara - I was reading your note to Elizabeth Hamblin abt. the rattle snake your husband heard - Wow, there are not many of those in Michigan, but perhaps because of the little lake ? although not swampy. BUT, I was cautious because I was smelling a skunk and didn't see one in the road but spotted a hole so I stayed clear of those headstones - but I photographed 7 family plots to complete profiles.

RE: Family Reserch
Thompson, Charlotte married Cross, James William in Canada. Her parents: James Thompson & Rhoda Ann Allen.
She is my g g grandmother.
After James William Cross died she came to MI and married Rev. Tracy Robinson.
Thompson, Edna married Putman or Putnam, Fred - this line is a work in progress.
Bell's - mixed bag!
Some Bell surnames are in my in-law line
and some are in Fader line which is in Cross line.
The in-law line starts in MI but end up in OH.

RE: Stafford information
But you do live in the Ingham Co. area. Maybe we could meet halfway. I have my family tree on a plug-in drive and will try to e-mail some of it to you. It is not complete because I continue to research the family but it is getting there.

Just related to the family of Abeel's, really wasn't sure if they buried there, I'm sorry you took the time to search that cemetery for them and not finding them there, As for the name of that road, Nothing to do with my other family name, But sure is a common road name, The Abeels is on my mother side of the family. Again Thanks for your efforts, if you see my family history under my name there is a URL to the family tree

RE: Warren Ferguson
Yes I have been researching the FERGUSONs who moved from Wayne Co, NY to the Lapeer/Oakland/Macomb Co area in the 1830s-1840s. They settled in the Addison/Almont/Romeo areas and were there from the 1830s to after 1900s. So as I find out where more of them are buried I send out photo requests.

Oh and Warren B FERGUSON's parents were Cordelia (STAFFORD) and John FERGUSON. I wonder if Cordelia is related to your STAFFORDs?

Thanks again for the help.

RE: Agnes Stafford
I check my family tree research and I do not see the connection to this branch of the Stafford's.

My branch is based from Joshua Stover Stafford.

But then just the other day I found out about a Morrison Stafford...still researching that one.

Agnes appears to be through the Rouland Stafford and Phebe branch but where it fits in I do not know.

I also have lots of info to share if you like:

Always glad to hear from the Stafford's
