I am not for sure of the memorial number... I have been very busy and not been on top of everything for a while. If you have anyone listed with the name of Whitehead in your line please respond.. Thanks

grasping at straws here
Hi Samantha, I am hoping you can shed some light on Charles W Smith (1860). Do you know if his mother was previously married? If so would that man's last name have been Whitehead. Thank you for your contribution and time. Tonya

Margaret Emma Fabricius French
I am looking for more information for "Emma". I wondered what source you had for her first name and if you had any information on her parents. My husband is related through the Owen line. Thank you, Diane Marsh

Anna Larsen has wrong surname
Your Anna Larsen (mem.# 58974518) at the Carlsen Larsen cemetery near Elk Horn, Iowa, has an incorrect surname for her; instead, her correct full name is: Anna Adeline (Jacobsen) Carlsen, who was married to James P Calsen buried in the same cemetery. Anna was my great-great grandmother, my grandfather Harvey Larsen's grandmother; I used to help Harvey mow and care for this cemetery. Her grave marker is engraved with "Mother Anna". I attempted to send in a correction to FindAGrave, but the edits do not always get fixed per my past experience. If you manage this memorial, then you may be able to directly correct Anna's surname to Carlsen, or better yet to her full name of Anna A (Jacobsen) Carlsen. The only other female Larsens currently buried in the cemetery are married into that name: 1) Mrs. Hans Larsen, who is correctly identified as Maren Kirstine Andersdatter; they were parents of Lewis Larsen (also buried there and spouse of Minnie Carlsen, daughter of Anna (Jacobsen) and James P Carlsen, and 2) Minnie Larsen, just described. Thanks for helping to correct this error. If you don't mind, I'e like to know if and how you might be related to the individuals you have listed as memorials for this cemetery. Thanks! Gerry Henningsen

Couple of Gravers
Loretta Adams
Hello Samantha,

I just realized that my memorial page for Loretta was a duplicate, and have deleted it.

If you contact Lynn Schneider, the creator of the original memorial page, I'm sure that he will create the links to Loretta's parents.

I did that memorial 4 years ago and do not remember where I got the information. I will take the Wesley from his memorial. Do I have his parents correct? I found a source that says his parents are Frederick Crissman and Catherine steer.

Thank you for letting me know about the duplicate memorials in Lester Twp Cemetery.
#1 The Cubines were not listed when I entered the memorials initially.
#2 The duplicates were not there when I visited Iowa (from California) and photographed the headstone.
#3 what is your opinion about No Location memorials being transferred in?

Thank you, Larry

I'm sorry it wasn't any better, but glad I was able to get it for you. I think this is acid etched lettering. There are a number of similar stones done the same way here and in the same bad condition, but this one is in the shade of a large tree almost all day. It's just legible enough to see who it belongs to.

RE: James Crisman Photo
I find it very sad that this is all we have left of so many brave men, and that we don't even have a record of all of the men buried in the 18 long trenches. The prison buildings were full at 2,000 and the winter of 1864 there were more than 10,000 prisoners there. It was an early & very cold winter and the local farmers couldn't give them anywhere close to enough food. At least 8,000 men had no shelter. I think it's important for us to remember all of our men & women of the military. Glad I could help in a small way to help lay your relative to rest. It is a magnificient final resting place. Very well maintained and beautiful grounds.

Marie Klupp
According the the office at Springdale Cemetery they do not have a Marie Klupp. They do have information on a Marie C Klumpp but the birth year is 1889 instead of 1890. She is buried next to Martha Klumpp who was born in 1890 and died in 1965. I went ahead and uploaded the photo for Marie C Klumpp. If it is not the correct person we can delete it.
