Betty Lou Hendon
Hoping you can check for me; is this the same Betty Lou who married Odon Clifford Lunday on 6 Apr 1997?

RE: John Arie Schakel
Great! I'm glad you can use the information. For me, as a researcher, I would take the draft registration birth information as a qualified, vetted source as one would (rightfully) assume that the information came directly from the person named on the record and one would assume (again, rightfully) that a person should know their birth date. ; )

Also, when looking to other's research, I always look for, and I'm sure you do too, some kind of vetted source. When people source other Ancestry trees, I never consider those because I cannot follow the source. Family trees are great to give clues about one's research but we all have to be careful about what they say.

Thanks for getting back to me!
And thank you for your Find A Grave work.

You have placed the wrong picture on Leendert J Schakel's memorial page. The correct one has been added to wife's page.

RE: Mable Johnston and Lilbern Prichard
My husband was related through Mable's sister Rosa Bell who married a Spear. I have been trying to locate Rosa Bell and Mable's father for a while. I am excited that you have that information. Please keep the memorial, I did not contact you for a transfer, I contacted you to see if you were willing to share information. :) My daughter will be excited to hear that you have found their father.

Troy Leonard Dunn
Troy was my great grandfather. Elvoy Dunn was my grandfather and Troy Lynn Dunn is my father. We have no record of Troy Leonard Dunn's father and have tracked him through the 1910 census where his mother, Pearl, was married to Lem C. Moore. Do you have ANY information about Pearl's maiden name and about who Troy Leonard Dunn's father was?
Thanks for your help,
Deral Dunn

Lucinda Streeter Findley
Hello, I got your message asking for transfer. I would be happy to do so.
I wanted to share my connection
Lucinda's half brother "Bat" Sebastian Streeter (son of Hannah & Sebastian) was married Rhuey Dunkin who is the sister to my great great grandfather Hough Dunkin.
Lucinda Streeter Findley's daughter Helen married Ott Dunkin (Rhuey's brother).
So half Streeter siblings married Dunkin siblings! :)

Just had to share the connection!

We need to write privately. We differ on the death date of William Henry McFall. Do you have a tree on line somewhere?

RE: Ancestry
My mother's mother's maiden name was Winn. Her father was Walter Scott Winn the son of Joshua N. Winn and his second wife Ellen Poston.

Joshua's father was Phillip Byrd Winn who was the son of Jesse D. Winn, Sr. and his first wife, Catherine Johnston.

So: me > Mother: Margaret P. Topley (Margaret Winn Parker) > Martha Winn Parker (Martha Gray Winn) >
Walter Scott Winn > Joshua N. Winn > Phillip Byrd Winn > Jesse D. Winn, Sr.

Hope this answers your question.

RE: Ancestry

I just started reviewing your last response.
I do have all of the names of the children of Jesse, Sr., Jesse, Jr. and two of the known children of Ben S.'s first marriage. As to the second marriage in Texas, there isn't much to go on. More research required.

I have spent the last two days entering The Winn Memoirs into the Winn Family Tree on my Sister's account. I'm not sure if it is visible to the public yet. I do not have all of it in as I am concentrating on the Winn lineage 1st and then I will populate the branches started by the Winn daughters marrying into other families.
I will let you know when it is available or when I lose my mind.
I am still waiting for my son to produce the .pdf. Sorry.

Where did Benjamin and Narcissa live? Any clue might help.

RE: More on the Winn Memoirs
I think I have discovered a small crack in Mr. Winn's Memoirs ...
Below is a part of the memoirs in so many words ...

Jesse D. Winn, Jr. was the son of J.D.W., Sr. and his second wife Mary (Polly) Colbert (nee Gordon). He was the only son of this union. He was the 12th child of Jesse Sr.

Jesse D. Winn, Jr. was married twice. His first wife was Lucy Ann Taliaferro Buckner, b: 14 Oct 1808 d: 18 July 1849. 5 children with Benjamin S. Winn being the forth child born 30 May 1834.

Benjamin S. Winn married a Miss Smith and left at LEAST two sons surviving this union:
William Terry Winn: b:17 April 1858
George D. Winn: b: 27 May 1861.

In the above, the words "at least" indicates to me
the Memoirs is incomplete and that Lotus T. Winn Sr. was not known to James French Winn, the author, and therefore was not included.

Also, Benjamin S. married a second time either in Texas or Mexico. The lady was of Mexican birth. No marriage date/info or name given except they had two sons and a daughter (No info on these children). According to the memoir, Benjamin was murdered in Texas. No date/location given.

Perhaps Lotus was a child of this second union.
Considering the tools (or lack of tools) James French Winn had to use in 1941, this crack does not surprise me.

Does any of this sync up with what you have?
Hope this helps.

Where can I send .pdf files?

I have transferred the Van Edens to you. It would be nice to know who you are.

Jacob & Abraham Goemaat

I have transferred the Goemaat pages to you. Herma added a birth certificate for Jacob on Abraham's page and I created one for Jacob who died at birth. I e-mailed Herma that the paper should be moved to Jacob's but no response.

Happy hunting for all your ancestors.

RE: Winn Memoirs
It was complied in 1941 by James French Winn and published in 1942. It begins with Jesse Durrett Winn, Sr. who was born April 13, 1752.

The W.M. is a small book of about fifty pages. It was printed by the Hobson Press in Cynthiana, KY.

James F, Winn died in 1952 and is buried in Kentucky.

My mother's mother is listed in this book.

According to the W.M., Jesse Durrett Winn's father is unknown, and there is no mention of a brother(s) or sister(s). My daughter found a grave stone for the wife of a Dr. Charles Ware Winn in the Hermitage cemetery (Nashville). I could not find Charles in the W.M. so he is either of a totally different branch of the Winns or the W.M. is in error or just incomplete.

I have searched a little on the Hobson Press and I can't find the book listed.
