Hello! I saw that you're a Vietnam veteran, and have dedicated to honoring the fallen soldiers in your unit. Just out of curiosity, did you know CPL Kenneth Wayne Tucker? If not, do you know anyone who did? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for posting the picture of Gene, my husband's brother. Tomorrow (31 Jan 2017) marks the 51st anniversary of his death in the Battle of the Rice Paddy. So long ago, and yet it seems like yesterday.

I wish the photo was more clear. I plan to go back in the spring to try it again. When I saw his marker and read it, I had tears in my eyes. I was in the Air Force from 61 to 64 but didn't see any action. You guys have my undying respect

Davd, Understand your mission, I am devoting my retirement to pretty much the same, making sure all the casualties from my home state are memorialized on Find A Grave as a convenience for their families and other loved ones. Thanks Warrior.

Thanks for your work on behalf of the families of these men. I lost about 25% of my high school graduation class to Vietnam. Reunions always have a place for these men to be especially remembered. We wondered what they might have become, if given the same chance that the rest of us had.
America is free but it came at a very high price. Service men and women should always be respected by a grateful nation. Thanks again for your service. Marcia CCTX

I see that you have requested a picture of Sam's headstone/marker. Although I am not claiming your request, I wanted to forward you information on where you can get his obituary.
sam's obituary was in The Huntsville Times, published: Tuesday, February 27, 1968, page 14, column 5.
You can request a copy from our local library at this address -
You never know, it might have a bit of information in it that you might have not known.
Good luck with your search,

I know you have some info on George Rogers buried in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. I am continuing my research on the burials here, and found that his brother, Stephen C. Rogers, is buried here also, a few feet away, in the same section. He was an SP 4 in Co. C, 22nd Infantry, 4th Division in the Army. I can't seem to find anything more on him: Where he died, etc. It says he died from wounds or an injury while on active duty. All I have for a resource is Ancestry.com. Maybe you could find more info on him? All I found I have posted on his memorial page.

I'm so glad I could help. I'm up in WV visiting my grandma and she remembered going to Terry's funeral. My father was also in Vietnam and both my parents served in the Air Force so I have a lot of respect for veterans. When I saw your note on the request, I made sure it was a priority while on my trip up here. I'm so happy I could help out and I wish you luck with your project.

David, I am glad I can help out. I didn't know of the war in Vietnam till i was in high school, which was in the early '80's. Keep up the great work you are doing for these soldiers that didn't make it back home. There are two memorials for Richard. I put the same photo for both.

I notice that you requested a photo of Sam's marker. No one has come forward to claim this request of yours. Penny cemetery is not in my area, but I do investigative research and sometime go through request in my area to see if there might be a issue that I can resolve.
Sam's marker should be easily found, but in the mean time, I noticed that there is a obituary in the Huntsville Times dated Tuesday, February 27, 1968.
You can easily order a copy of the obituary from our local library - http://obits.hmcpl.org.
I hope this helps in finding other fellow members that fought in the Vietnam War.
