She is buried next to Andrew Gardner, I assume her spouse. I posted photos to his memorial as well. James

William and Bertha Meikle
I noticed that you have created William and Bertha Meikle's memorials under Mountain View Cemetery at Vancouver, British Columbia. They were cremated at Mountain View but on checking Mountain View listings of burials online prior to January 2007, there is no mention of William and Bertha Meikle. Can you update their burial info by editing burials, select cremation and then location of ashes is unknown for both William and Bertha since they are not buried at Mountain View?

photo request for Ocean View
Ocean View Burial Park, owned by Diginity Memorial, is a privately owned cemetery. Dignity Memorial will not give information to a third party, you must be a relative. They feel that they could be sued for release of private information. I have the email to prove this!!!!!
If you contact their office (through email) and request their location I would take a photo for you. They would be willing to do a lookup if the request came from a family member. If you cannot figure out your connection, say you are a cousin.
Once you have the location just enter it into the memorial page and it will show on the photo request.
Thank you,

Grave of Ethel Stearman @ Ross Bay Cemetery
Hi David:

Unfortunately, there are no markers on this grave - just a small 'foot stone' with the family name "Newman" - Ethel's maiden name. It seems she is buried with her parents William Stephen Newman (Find A Grave Memorial 121308413) and Caroline Baker (Find A Grave Memorial 121308363) - we have submitted edits to link them, and have uploaded photos of the grave site.

A mystery though - according the cemetery mapping site
there are also two other people buried in these plots:
Joseph Edward Proctor McPherson 1898-1968 (Find A Grave Memorial 121315233) and his wife Kathleen Theresa McPherson nee Ronan 1895-1976 (Find A Grave Memorial 121315244). Any idea if they are related to the Newmans in some way?

Photo Request
What I meant is the people helping me in my project uploaded and took the photos. I have all the photos, but I was directing and helping everyone.

RE: Find a Grave Photo Requests
Okay I'm glad you were able to get those photos. If there were any problems with the photos let me know and I can do something about. I wasn't the one who uploaded and took them.
Glad to help,

RE: Find a Grave Photo Requests
Oh that could be a problem with international calling and stuff.
Plus the time zones. I'll actually just call in myself and get the location. :)

Find a Grave Photo Requests
As part of my Eagle Scout Project I am fulfilling photo requests around Northern Virginia. I would like to fulfill your photo request for the person you listed for National Memorial Park, but I've already asked them to look up the locations of many people there. If you would be willing to call the cemetery (703-560-4400) and ask for the plot information on your request and relay that information to me today, Wednesday, or Thursday, we will go fulfill your request this Friday.

RE: Fischhof
I revisited the area yesterday, and it might be possible that there is a marker, but it would have to have sunken, and then been covered with sod.

The next time, I'm up at the far end of the cemetery, I'll try and bring a garden trowel with me to see if I can find something an inch or so under the surface.

By the way, all three plots are close together, with two being side by side and the third almost directly behind.

RE: Fischhof
I'll go back this week and take another look. It might be possible that a plaque got grown over by grass and hidden. Almost all of the headstones in that row are upright, so I didn't disturb the ground looking for a marker.

See the caption under the photo. Elizabeth might be Herman's first wife. There is also a Norma, who might be wife 2.

RE: Lynda Mary Ward
Hi David
I popped to the office today and was told that they do not hold any information and if they did they could not give it me due to Confidentiality laws. Sorry, but it looks as if you will have to order her Mother's death cert and hope that she is listed on there.

I did see this:

Name: L Northen Ward
Occupation: Electric
Location:Montréal, Québec, Canada
Electoral District: LaSalle-Émard-Côte St-Paul

but when I looked at it, it says Ward, L. Northen Electric
Sorry I couldn't help further.

McCorquodale, Nettie
in case you wondered, Nettie's neighbours Martin and Guri Sorflaten have a gravestone of their own, and Osbourne and Ivor Sorflaten have a gravestone of their own. I will add the pictures sometime this week.

I was at Brookside today, and it appears the photos for Donald and Nettie McCorquodale are indeed the correct locations.
For Nettie, it appears my excel spreadsheet listed the occupants of plot D2-1815-0 in slightly the wrong order. Immediately to the left of the Barry gravestone are gravestones for the Robinson family. Below is a revised list for Nettie and her neighbours:
D2-1813-0 Sorflaten Martin 38195 04/05/1949 04/07/1949
D2-1813-0 Sorflaten Guri 61606 7/15/1968 7/18/1968
D2-1813-0 Sorflaten Osbourne 26379 09/02/1937 09/04/1937
D2-1814-0 Sorflaten Ivor 71414 12/18/1976 12/22/1976
D2-1815-0 McCorquodale Nettie 82029 1/22/1986 9/16/1986
D2-1815-0 Barrie Annie 26337 08/07/1937 08/09/1937
D2-1815-0 Barry James 34678 3/20/1946 3/22/1946
D2-1816-0 Robinson Elina 26330 08/03/1937 08/05/1937
D2-1816-0 Robinson Henry Emmerson 27911 6/29/1939 07/06/1939

the actual death registration for genealogy purposes from the Manitoba government costs about $10. It will also name the cemetery. In 1937 this registration will contain a large amount of information, such as names of parents and the date and place of birth. But we'll look a bit more for gravestones first.

Donald McCorquodale
The burial number for Donald McCorquodale is 26197 (as per the spreadsheet). This is consistent with the other burials in 1937.
I am considering phoning the Glen Eden Cemetery to see if they have Donald McCorquodale and what his plot number is over there. Or what other McCorquodale's are buried there. I even might use a small hand trowel just to check if there is a stone that sank into the ground in Brookside. I have seen cemetery staff use real shovels, but if I did that it would look very suspicious :) The old parts of Brookside don't have many visitors.
