I have a Union Dale Inscription Book that lists Walter S. Trask 1896-1952. He is in Div. 3, Sec. F. The year of birth is not in agreement with your date. Not sure when I will get to Div. 3 as I plan on Div. 2 next and I had just done Div. 3 before this name was on the list. When I do get there I will look for him. Betty

RE: RE:Wait photos
Margaret -

You are welcome! I would think when the Waits and some of the Rathbuns died the times were hard and they did they best they could to mark the graves. What a nice sentiment that because of the photos the markers will live on even after the names have worn off.

You wondered about how the photo requests are assigned. They are totally volunteer. Anyone in Find A Grave in the area of a cemetery who has said they are willing to take photos are sent a notice that there is a photo request for such and such a cemetery. Then you can choose to take the request or not.

I never claim a request until I have taken the photo as I don't want anyone to be disappointed if I can't find a marker to fulfill the request that I claimed.

Have a wonderful week, Margaret!

Best wishes, High Plains :)

RE: Stecker photo in Westerheim cemetery

I took photos of all the requested photos that I could find. I will be posting more now and if I don't finish tonight I will post them tomorrow.

I also took a photo of the cemetery today that I have posted but it has not been approved yet. No name but you can see the scenery from the opening in the fence that encloses the cemetery. I have all three pictures that you requested. The Wait markers are REALLY hard to read - sorry. They are in concrete/cement and someone scratched the name and dates. If you can't read them I will send the ones I took and maybe you can enlarge them so you can read them easier.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

RE: Mrs Ethan Earl newspaper obits
I am sorry but I do not maintain the Find A Grave Memorial# 11551694, therefore I cannot add the articles to that memorial. The Maintainer of the memorial is s smith (inactive) (#46775151) Who is inactive. Comparing the memorials,
on 11551694 headstone death date is May 19, 1881.
on 104460544 article says previous Saturday May 28.
on 11551694 headstone name is Pheoba A
on 104460544 article doesn't provide first name
on 104460544 article 1 says Sumner cemetery, article 2 says Oakland. If someone refers to article 1, they will look here. I can add a note on memorial 104460544 to point searchers to memorial 11551694.

RE: Children of David Gardner Waite In Cloud Kansas Cemetery
Effie Waite married Jefferson Burns on July 18, 1884 in Cloud County, Kansas.

The couple had two children
Lois b 9/1885
Hazel b 1/1892 in KS

They must have divorced as Jefferson Burns was alive in 1919 in Kansas City - not sure if KS or MO - when his father died.

Effie Waite married William W. Toot on 1/20/1887 in Cloud County, Kansas.

This couple had one child in 1887 and the infant died in 1887. The couple divorced soon after the death of the infant as Toot was upset that the baby had died.

I found Effie Waite with Joseph Cooper in 1900 Arapahoe County, CO with her two children, Lois and Hazel. According to the 1900 census, Effie had 3 children with 2 living and was supposed to be married 8 years making their marriages as 1892. Jefferson Burns' brother Hiram Jackson Burns raised Hazel - Hazel married a Pratt in Cloud County, Kansas - and Hazel is buried next to Hiram Jackson Burns and his wife. Maybe Effie and Jefferson Burns was not married in 1892 when Hazel was born - Hiram Jackson Burns' wife could have no children, so maybe this was the arrangement??

I am not sure what happened to Lois Burns. Sometimes Lois was listed in census with her grandparents also.

David Waite's Civil War information stated that they were moving to Iowa. I haven't found the family ever in Iowa. Georgia was born in NE and died in Cloud County, Iowa. Maybe the David Waite family moved to NE instead of Iowa.

Please let me know if you have more information about Ida Waite. I have not found much definite information about her. The older family members, that has passed away now, never knew much about Ida other than she was working in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas and that would have been about 1880.

Thank you. Please keep touch. I would love to hear more information about Ida Waite.

RE: Children of David Gardner Waite In Cloud Kansas Cemetery
Ida Waite is in the 1880 Cloud County Kansas census - Concordia City, 5th Street, as Boarder in the Hotel. Her parents are on page 26 and she is on page 30 from the information. I can't find Ida after that time and there are no marriages certificates in Cloud County, Kansas for Ida Waite that I have been able find.

RE: Children of David Gardner Waite In Cloud Kansas Cemetery
Effie Waite married Jefferson Burns and the marriage certificate is in Cloud County, Kansas. Jefferson Burns is a brother to Leona Burns that married Frank R. Waite (died in 1901) whose marriage certificate is also in Cloud County, Kansas. Jeff Burns and Effie must have divorced. I thought for awhile that Jeff Burns died, but don't believe now that he died that early. Other source is 1885 Cloud County Kansas Census.

Effie married a Toot (sorry, don't remember his first name and I will send his name to you later). The couple had a baby that died in Cloud County, Kansas and that is recorded in the museum in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas. This couple divorced after the death of the baby.

I next found Effie Waite with Joseph Cooper in 1900 Arapahoe County, Colorado census with two children by the name of Burns - Lois & Hazel. I believe these children parents are Effie and Jeff Burns. Hazel and Lois Burns also shows up in other census with Burns relatives. I have also found Effie in the 1920 Denver County, CO census. I believe that Effie is buried in Colorado, but not sure where.

I have never found Ida Waite married. I used to think that she was married to a Glascow also, but have not found a marriage certificate for proof. I have not any information about a burial of Ida. I did find Ida working in the Hotel (the old one on 5th Street that is was torn down about 1975 or about) in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas - sorry, I don't remember what year.

Do you have more information about Ida Waite? I couldn't find more information/proof about Ida Waite.

Please let me know. I am always looking for information about the Waites. Frank Waite is my husband's ggrandfather making David Waite his gggrandfather.

Chris Mills
Guy Doolittle
There are a lot of names on the cemetery website that haven't made it into Find A Grave, possibly even a third of them. I know I didn't automatically create a memorial for Guy and it was because he didn't show up in the California death index for some reason, I was using that to find the birth dates because the cemetery website only lists death dates and not birth dates (and in some cases doesn't even list the death date). For the most part if I couldn't find a birth date to match the death dates from the cemetery website I wasn't generating a memorial for the person.
