Hello...
I attempted to locate her headstone but the cemetery says there is no headstone. It is located in Block 128, lot 2, grave 6.
Also the cemetery says her date of death is 2016, not 2014 as shown on the site.
Hope this helps.

RE: EMILIE BROWN
Hi,
Yes, how are you? I still work every day...pretty sure I found her in 1880 living with a married couple. I am curious about Emilie as her first name. I have Emily. I wonder about her middle initial A ..wonder if that is Ann? I just added another child for Nathaniel Brown, her brother. His name was John Henry Brown and he was born September 30 1878 in Seligman, Missouri. I think John Henry may have changed his middle name. Something very strange about John Henry..never the less he is ours. John Henry married and moved to be near Angeline, his sister,in Tulsa. He died there in 1949. I was trying to get his death certificate but Tulsa makes you jump through so many hoops it is taking some time. Keep up the good work!

You are very welcome. I spend a few hours on Find A Grave every day. Some stories are so sad and some are uplifting. I usually try and match the flowers to the story.

I'm one of Dennis's cousins - he wouldn't remember me, but he'd remember my father, who was one of the 'old guard' interested in family history. I'm glad I noticed the Zuelkes here, and saw he link.

Hi Valerie:

I can't believe I found you on this website - I was looking at someone who left flowers for my grandpa and ran across you and your picture!!! This is Dawn Marie - Do you remember when we were kids? Theresa and Ross' niece (your old neighbors). How have you been? You are as beautiful as ever and I hope all is well with you!!! Have a great day!!!!

RE: Thank you
Hi Valerie,

Good to hear from you. So your Great,Great Grandparents are:
William Joab and Margaret Caroline "Maggie" Mandeville Strawn. They are my Great Grandparents.
They were married in Nemaha County, Kansas in 1870.
I have a letter from a Frank that is packed in some of my Dad's stuff. I am going to get it out and read it again because he might be the husband of Margaret Strawn. Which William, Sara and Margaret were sibling. This is so interesting to research.
Thanks again, I would love to see the picture you were talking about.

Yes, send me her name and I'll be happy to look for her. I maintain a huge database with all the names that we've copied from cemeteries in two counties. If you'd like to email me, that's fine--my email address is dcoxbriggs@charter.net

highlighting
Hi, Valerie - Thanks for your reply...l am on my phone right now, but will highlight your grandpa when l get home. Yes, Mom worked at the Brighton one a few years ago; she passed away last August (if you check my highlighted names, you will see my brother Ron and he links to Mom and Dad), and l still remember riding out those back roads after she got off work, we would go to that drive in fast food right there, gosh, l forgot the name but 50s style burgers and shakes. :) Anyhow, nice to meet you and as said l will do my highlighting when l get home and can see this better! Hugs, RCP and Gannon Blue

William Eugene Colson
Dear Valerie,
Hi, my name is Rhonda and a friend noticed your grandfather's memorial page - Brighton being such a small town, Jim messaged me and said You're not gonna believe the page I just came across. =) Well, I just went over and read about Gene, and I was wondering whether you might like his page to be highlighted, for extra visits and tokens? I always ask now in case a family wants to keep their pages private...but if you click to my page, you'll see what I try to do. It seems to get a name a few extra visits, and being from the Illinois cornfields myself, I have a soft spot for hard working farm families! =) I also have lived in just about every place named in Mr. Colson's memorial; my mom worked at the Brighton nursing home and I lived right between Thornton and Brighton, and my husband and I drove truck through Commerce City many, many times...and as a kid, my mom and dad ran us every which way through Kansas! Anyhow, let me know if you'd like his name - or any of your other pages highlighted, and I'll be sure to send people his way. Have a good night - Best, RCP and Gannon Blue
