RE: PS
Yes, the Eldred's are my direct ancestors. I just started working on my own genealogy a few months back, so I'm not extremely knowledgeable about tracking some of the more obscure people down yet, but I did figure them out.
I actually visited Harmony the same day I went to the Quaker Cemetery. I really like that one, and would love to have seen it when it was in better shape. It seems to have a very beautiful, peaceful vibe about it. And yes, genealogy is great! I always liked walking through cemeteries, and history, so now I can put the two of them together, it's awesome!!

RE: Back again.
Actually, I did take photos in the Quaker Cemetery, and th stones are the same. Also, in my photos, the same wall shows in the background. That was one of the reasons I questioned it. The Quaker Cemetery is right across from Hillington, so I wondered if maybe you visited both the same day and got your photos mixed up. And the memorial for them that are posted for the Quaker Cemetery show the same stone wall in the background. Very interesting.

RE: Re Soden graves
Ok. Thank you for checking.i thought maybe you had placed them in the wrong cemetery, because the stone wall in the background of your photos looks like the one in the Quaker Cemetery, not Hillington. The cemeteries are close together, so some people don't realize that they are separate. Thank you for checking, and have a great weekend!!

Emma and Nettie Soden Hillington Cemetery
Hi Donna. Could you please verify the posting of these two being buried in Hillington Cemetery, as I was in the Quaker Burying Ground today, and both of these stones appear in the Quaker Burying Ground. Thank you very much.

RE: Re Boice photos
Yes I was at the cemetery yesterday and it was hot. It was my plan to go yesterday below I got your list. I got lucky, I was working in section 1 and one of the maintenance people I talked with last week was there. I asked him where the Boice family might be. He said he pointed to a clump of spruce trees, they were under the spruce trees. And yes, it was hot but I also found some of the graves I was looking for. Still four Boice outstanding. Did you notice I added a few Boice not on your list?

RE: Thank you!
Yeah, its a big cemetery but not very well documented, not may pictures and some of the information on older graves, pre-1940, has errors. I will be going back again so if you have some names that you want send them to me. I was amazed at how many photo requests Walton has. I did 18 but there is over 200 more.

It is always good to hear that someone actually benefited from all the work I did in the past on collecting photos and entering them here! Glad I made you happy!

RE: Interesting finds
Wow Donna!!! That is quite the connections you have made with the aid of the book. I wasn't confused with the family connections...I grabbed my book and read up on it. It makes complete sense to me. I am astonished that the teen brothers were sent down by FOOT to the US. That is quite a remarkable story. Thank you so much for sharing it with me! Have a great week!

Cato Freeman # 52365743
Because you maintain his memorial, and have done so much work on Butternut, I thought you might like to know about this (if you didn't already):

"There will be an unveiling of a historical marker to Cato Freedom, a slave who gained his freedom during the Revolutionary War. Following his service, Cato purchased a farm in Burlington, NY, with his pension. The marker will stand inside the Butternut Valley Cemetery where Cato, his wife and one of two daughters is buried on County Route 16, Burlington (just outside Garrattsville). The ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 20th, at 1 p.m. in the Butternut Valley Cemetery. It will include the Edmeston American Legion, Timothy Simmons (an Edmeston Central School trumpeter) and local dignitaries. The marker is sponsored by the Otsego County Historical Association, the Butternut Valley Cemetery, the US Colored Troops Institute and the local NAACP. The event is free and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served." (from an email I received from OCHA and DAR; unedited)

RE: Thank you.
It brings me great joy to hear how much information you are reading about in the book in regards to your family. That truly is fantastic! Please let me know if you need any other photographs now that you have more access and history to your Aylsworth ancestors. I have had the book for about a month now and I can say that I have greatly enjoyed reading it. I agree with you, she did a phenomenal job getting it together!

RE: Re Andrew Aylsworth
Hi Donna, I just received an email from findagrave confirming they have addressed the mispelling of Andrew's last name and it has been fixed! So no more Aylesworth!!! It took two days for findagrave to fix it and I am so pleased for your family!

On the subject of books, please be advised there is a recently published book about the North Afton Cemetery. I just checked in the index, and I counted 28 Aylsworth's! What this means is that in this book there is a note about where they are buried within the cemetery, with many containing marriage notices, obituaries, death notices. Some of them have specifics about their lives. The name of the book is "NORTH AFTON CEMETERY Afton, Chenango County, New York." It is written by Sharon M. Donahoe, published in 2017. The woman who wrote the book is having a presentation this Thursday in Bainbridge, NY about it. You can contact her if you are interested in purchasing the book or even asking about your descendants. Shanon lists the book you mentioned written by the family in her book and lists it as a source. I am not sure if there is any new information about your family in Shanon's book because I have not read the book written by Homer Elhanan Aylsworth. I also saw Shanon's book listed for sale on ebay. Sharon's email is donahesm@roadrunner.com

Please let me know if there is any one else whose memorial you would like photographed. It sure is nice to be part of this history journey. ~Laila

Barbara Rivas
Thanks for the updates to Barbara Rivas' memorial. I have added her maiden name based on the additional information you sent. Like you, I send a lot of additional information and/or corrections and I know they are not appreciated by some members of Find A Grave. I hope for additional information on all of my memorials, the more complete a memorial the better for all of us.

re: Collingwood Rodney Duroe
I read with interest your comments on Collingwood Duroe's memorial page. You might not be aware of a recent Ancestry source, NY, Wills and Probate Records, 1659-1999, in which is stated that he died on 08 Jun 1919. Oddly enough the probate date listed is 16 Jun 1916. I believe that year entry to be in error. Obviously a look at his certificate of death is needed.
Best regards,
Mike Hodges

Donna, we got your edit for Marion's maiden name. Could you tell us where you got the maiden name as "Matteson" not "Madison" from? We just wanted to make sure before we change it. You can reach us through Option #6 under her memorial. Thanks.

Re: Thank you for photos of Roger Nelson.
Hi Donna. We must be related.

Rev NP Simonsen was my great grandfather. He baptized my dad - Merrill Nelson. My dad is the son of his daughter Alice SImonsen & William P Nelson

I recently did my DNA on FamilyTreeDNA. And it connected me to a cousin in Denmark not in my tree. Cousin Mogens has been very helpful in assisting me with the ancestors in Denmark and we have added a few generations to that tree (as we search for our common ancestor).

Please let me know how we are related

RE: Wow!
Thanks for checking out my stats. I work at it a few hours a day. In the nicer weather I go to a lot of cemeteries and to my amazement I have found 5 new cemeteries. I'm more interested in the back story, who the person was and who they are related to. Count doesn't matter to me. I know I must irritate some contributors be cause I sent a lot of additions and corrections but I like to have the facts. And yes I've made a couple of mistakes but I welcome corrections. I have missed some corrections for the first 6 months or so because I never noticed the tab on my profile page which I never went to.
