RE: Josephine and nellie
I suspect that Orville and Nellie were married and moved to NJ. Nellie passed away in 1952.
Orville, subsequently, married Josephine C

Unfortunately, I have no proof of this so am just guessing and can shed no light on the matter.

Btw, for now I rejected the 2 edits you submitted for Nellie because they seemed to add to the confusion

I took a quick look at familysearch.org and it appears to be mixing information from 2 people (Josephine and Nellie).

I thank you so much for making sure they are remembered. I completely agree. I promise to research Charles Clifton and give him a bio. I am grateful to manage his memorial. I am honored to help remember him.

If you would like to transfer, I will gladly accept. Thank you. We are outside of the guidelines, so I didn't ask. Thank you so much for your hard work in getting the memorial online.

I am sorry for the confusion. The 150636619 memorial will be deleted. I waited because it was still connected to one other memorial. It was easier to find that way.

It has taken so much to find the burial of our great grandfather. Even the cemetery itself was questioning that they were the same man when I called. Joseph Clifton was buried under the name, "Clifford."

The best I can figure out for this situation is that the marker in Wharton is a cenotaph. (A tribute to someone who is buried in a different location.)
I found an obit where she was raised in Wharton, so that may be the reason for that one.
The obit said that Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Yolland, survived by her husband David C. Whitenberg, was cremated and her ashes to be buried in the Linden Cemetery in Linden, TX.
It gives her dates as Nov. 28, 1949 - Sept. 20, 2005.
I hope this helps clarify things.

Benny

You're very welcome. I was a little confused with the different last name (Brand). I'm assuming she kept the name of her first husband, William Brand. Looks like he died early and she remarried Robert Anderson.

The thing I like about filling your requests is that you generally give me a good story in return. Thanks Claire.

Believe me I know how easy it is to trip up when walking in the past. Thanks for changing this. No reason to transfer unless you just want to do so. Glad that we could work together on this one.

Claire, one thing more, relationship on census only applies to the relationship to the head of the house. In 1900 the head was Henry and all of the children were either his son or daughter. Relationship of Johanna to the head was wife.

RE: Hildegarte Cook
Claire, Henry Cook was first married to Magdalena Schobel who died either in childbirth (William Arnold was born 16 July 1889) or shortly thereafter. Magdalena Schobel Cook 1851-1889. There is still one more child that has not been linked to the parents but below is a chronological listing of births:

Elizabeth Cook Eilers (1873 - 1936)**
Charles A. Cook (1874 - 1929)**
Louise Catherine Cook Scheel (1876 - 1953)**
Robert C Cook (1882 - 1955)**
Edward Frederick Cook (1884 - 1952)**
Ida W Cook Stelzig (1885 - 1943)**
Hildegard Josephine Cook Mazel (1888 - 1959)
William Arnold Cook (1889 - 1941)**

Henry Cook and Magdalena Schobel Cook were married in 1888 when Hildegard was born.

I have not found any child born to Johanna Meyer Cook and Henry Cook. Please see death certificate for Hildegard which i attached to her memorial - it states that her mother is Lena (Magdalena) Schobel.

Hi Claire Ehrhart Abel,

Addie Lenora Hoot-Maxwell is in my family through marriage.

I do not know who has begun managing memorials for Tom Hoot, if someone has started managing his memorials, then their name will be listed under "Maintained by:" and his name will be under "Created by:". If you email: info@findagrave they should be able to help you.

Sincerely,
Mark

Hi Claire,
I hope you have ancestry.com, if so type into your browser "All U.S., Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935" and enter Hannah Henton. There are many records for her there and be sure to select the image of the actual documents. Sometimes the transcriptions are not complete or inaccurate.
Happy New Year
Neil
