I just wanted to thank you for doing what you do. My 88 year old father was able to find family members including an uncle who had died at a very young age. He had heard about this uncle for years growing up and remember he was buried at Hill City, Gordon, County. We were able to locate the grave through Find a Grave and it led us directly to it. Thanks again.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. My daughter took these pics 15 yrs ago and got them mixed up with others she took in Mobile on the same day.I had not ever realized it. Thank you. Bessie was my husbands grandmother so I just changed the name of the cemetery to the correct one.

I don't want to request a transfer. Lol. However, would you happen to be related to Mr. Dunagan? (Find A Grave Memorial# 116020124) I'm doing research on this family. Thanks!

|Peter Washburn||Alice Hinson McCants|
I would like to make a correction to your statement regarding Alice Hinson McCants who was my great grandmother. Her maiden name was actually Hinson. Her first husband and my great grandfather was Ausborn Henry McCants. She re-married possibly two times after his death. But, she was the daughter of James Hinson of Wilcox County and Mary Rivers from Clarke County.

I would take other memorials if in the direct lineage too.
BTW - Hix Carter died and was buried in Blue Ridge. My Grandpa Cook was his grandson and he and my grandmother went to the funeral.

I would love to take over Hix Carter and his wife Sarah. Their daughter Callie V Carter was my great grandmother. Do you have her too? Thanks

I think I knew the plot number for them but since it didn't state a grave # like their son's, I had intended to check it out further. And it's been a while...How do you know their particular plot doesn't have a grave number? Do you have a map or did you ask at the office? Thanks.

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the hard work you do in Cherokee County, GA. I have found lots of information thanks to your efforts!!
Is there any chance you might could help me locate a couple of folks?
1) George W Nations who died Nov 14 2007. I believe his wife Opal to be at Cherokee Memorial Park. She has a photo, but it is a single marker and he isn't listed.
2)Frances Ardelphia Nations Green Mulkey who died July 16, 1998. Not sure how she would be buried. I know she married Mitchell Greene. He is on Find A Grave at Harmony Baptist Church in Cherokee County, Georgia. There is no photo and I have no proof.
Any hints or help you could offer would be appreicated.

|Danny Mashburn||RE: S Eliza Thomas|
Hi, The spouses name does match. Sarah Eliza Queen married James "Bud" Thomas in 1884 in Union County, Georgia. Her death certificate lists her husband as "B. Thomas" and her Queen parents. I have a copy of their marriage license from Union County. It is also the correct cemetery location because the original Hopewell Church and cemetery (also known as Eli's Chapel) later became known as Kingtown Baptist Church and cemetery. But before the name was changed the old death certificates have the old name of Hopewell.
